There is most likely the main power supply has several shorted parts in it, depending on how old it is, it might be worth at least an estimate. if you have homeowners insurance, you may want to concider reporting this to them. Good Luck

The square box is not a channel lock it's closed caption and labled CC in your menu.. Go into the menu and set CC off... No more box...

Try to unplugged to the power outlet for 2 minutes, and then power on. Or for the meantime if it have protection circuit like surge protector disconnect that for the meantime. And then power it on.
If not there's maybe a high voltage circuitry problem if this is a crt type tv.
