How can I remove the chuck?

Most drills have a chuck that screws on to a threaded shaft that extends inside the motor. Repair shops know how to "freeze" that shaft so it will not turn, allowing you to unscrew the chuck. One model of drill has a tiny hole that you insert a nail into to remove the chuck.

How do you remove the chuck from a 3/8 electric drill

Open up chuck for largest drill bit. Look inside and you will see a screw, remove the screw. Put a pair of vise grips on the stationary part of the drill chuck, which is the part of the chuck that the tightening tool goes into. The chuck is screwed onto left hand threads. Take a rubber mallet and hit the pair of vise grips clockwise sharply, to loosen chuck. You can now do what you planned on doing. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

How do I take chuck off a rigid R86007 cordless drill there is no screw in bottom of chuck

if there is no screw in bottom of chuck then it must just unscrew and I would guess counter clockwise but the question is how do you hold it tight enough to turn .

Grinding sound when running drill

it sounds like the gears aren't meshed. Switch the speed selector between high and low speed and maybe give the chuck a wiggle when you do it.

Changing the chuck of a 6408 makita electric drill

Open the chuck and remove the screw inside the chuck (if fitted) the screw is left hand thread, fit the short end of the largest hex key that will fit into the chuck and tighten the chuck, put the drill into low gear and turn the clutch to the drill position, support the drill on a bench and strike the long end of the hex key with a firm blow (right hand thread) it may be neccessary to strike it more than once

Drill chuck removal

Look down into the chuck and you will see a screw. It must be removed so that the chuck can be pried off. It should be righthand(standard thread) lefty loosey. An impact driver is my favorite tool for removeing the screw, as you must not strip it or you will have to drill it out. Once the screw is removed, put the drill in a padded vise if one is available and do what is necessary to pop the chuck off. Something with enough width to span from the chuck to the drill body can be carefully driven between the two to break it loose.

Removing chuck from Makita 64C1 drill

secure the short end of an allen wrench in the chuck, making sure it is as tight as possoble. Useing a wood or hard rubber mallet strick the long end of the allen wrench so it turns counter-clockwise. This should loosen the chuck from the spindle enough that you can unscrew it by hand.

Chuck removal

First open the chuck jaws and remove the LH chuck retaining screw. After that find a bent handle allen wrench about the size of the chuck. Put the shorter end in the chuck and clamp down on it. Put chuck on a block of wood or workbench with the long end at about a 30 degree angle so you can hit it counterclockwise with a hammer. It might take a couple hits but it will come off.
