You have been having problems with this"good stereo installed by the dealer" for 127 days now,the problem is the cd player,if you wouldve taken it back about 100 days ago they wouldve switched it out for you,now you are stuck with a screwed up cd player that doesnt work properly, spend the time and money on a new cd player, have someone else install it.

How do you open the player that has cd in it to take out and put another cd in

You're talking about a computer?
If the eject button isn't working, look at the side of the cd tray. You'll see a very small hole.

Get a paper clip, straighten it and push the straight part of the clip into the hole.

That should release the mechanism and the tray will click open

My NEC doesn't read DVD's, DVD-RW and CD read good. Please help! Firmware 1.07 Windows XP

I assume that you are talking about movie DVD's; you need a 3rd party program that can play DVD's, or you need to install the proper codec's to play DVD's; because of fear of "monopoly" lawsuits, Windows Media Player in XP does not natively support DVD playback. You can either look for and install the necessary codec's, or you can download and install VLC player (among others) that have the necessary functionality built in. Try this link:

It is from, and is tested to be malware free. Load the DVD in your drive, open "My Computer", right click the DVD drive, choose "Open With" and select VLC player.

if your talking about a flex upgrade the answer is yes, but you will need the tech. menu codes, to actually install it. without it it wont do anything.

now if your talking about downloading movies, and burning them to a dvd, and making them play then yes if u burn the video files into a dvd format.

if your talking about burning music, then yes that will play also.

Can i play Xvid files on my 622 dvd player? if not which kind of video files does it play?

Im assuming your talking about the Philips DVD 622. You cannot play any video files unless they are burned to a CD or DVD in the standard DVD format. It can play certain audio formats but cannot play different video formats.

DVD movie onto a CD-RW

first off, your not going to get dvd quality on cd, if ur talking about a standard dvd that u wish to put on cd, dont even bother.

4GB(DVD) to 700MB(CD) ? re-encoding it to that size will look like crap.

Can''t play dvd-r on my computer

Is it the DVD player/cd burner combo on your computer or simple CD player?
Compatibility: Check if your DVD player on your computer is compatible of playing -r's CD or DVD?.
Check the make and model of your computer and go to the manufacturer's website and find out from there.
You might have to talk to the manufacturer's support.
and if you are sure that the DVD player and its compatible of playing -r's DVDs then first of all check by playing any +r's DVD and see how they respond. If you are certain that it plays - and +rs etc then recheck your recording of DVD's.
Also try installing a good program software like Nero on the computer which will give you options of controlling, burning and playing DVD/CD on your computer.
Best of luck!
