abotu 50% of the time, when i have the webcam on , wether it is over messenger or orbicam the screen well turn blue with white line and the computer will just shut down. anything to do to help it? its VERY annoying.
-   im gettin the blue screen as a result of an orbicam problem (i think it's an elexctrical wiring thing). the computer keeps detecting and disconnecting the orbicam everytime i tilt the screen and eventually i just get the blue screen. anyone have a solution? yrubinucf@yahoo.com-   yrubinucf
Hey guys, So I've been working on this problem for a year now. The tilting thing making the connect/disconnect noise was awful. This is what I found out. Took the damn thing apart. Turns out that the wires that connect the orbicam to the internal port (which is near the power button, underneathe) were FAULTY! When I moved the wires even just slightly, it made the noise, but when I kept them still, and touched the connections, it was fine.
So I took the wires out completely, with both connectors, ordered a new set (industry standard), installed them, and I no longer have the problem.
It would appear that Acer used **** wires or didn't assemble them properly in the first place, because too many folks are having this problem. Even with the Orbicam ceasing to work after only a short time. I assume it's the same issue.
** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that
folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.
If that does not work then do this:
Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering Technology then Acer E-Recovery - The look at the bottom and you will
"Backup", "Burn disk" and Restore" choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say
extracting) - once extracted - click Install or Guides and Manuals if needing Orbicam instructions - click Vista or (XP) on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the
right side of the screen, then look for Bison driver or (or your model which can be found in device manager - control panel - system - device manager - Imaging devices) you have then click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions. Then repeat steps above and instead of driver choose Bison (or your model which can be found in device manager - control panel - system - device manager - Imaging devices) Utility

My wireless connection worked fine up until today...I have reset the switch on the front of my Acer Aspire 5110 and it continues to be ''orange'' rather than ''green'' that would indicate is on and working properly When trying to re-set up a wireless connection, I continue to get an error message telling me that the cable is unplugged? We are on a LAN, using a router, I have a connection just fine on my desktop, which is what I am on.

Compaq laptop: my mouse pointer or arrow is frozen. It happened when I was using email. On the scroll bars of the email, at the end of the message, two transparent boxes appeared, similar to those when setting margins on Word. Have I locked the mouse pointer or is there a fault? The mouse pointer sometimes works when the screen is setting up, but soon freezes. Your solution may need to include how to solve the problem with the keyboard only, because, of course, I can't use the mouse pointer to click. I have tried going to the computer settings and accessing the mouse dialogue box, but have limited use with the arrow keys and the enter key.
