SOURCE: My Silverado front end wobbles at any speed, not affected braking

Couple of checks , mud in front rims will give you a wobble. Front tire cord seperation or loose wheel nuts. , Wore out tie rod end, front wheel bearing play, or a weight has fallen off the rim and it needs balancing. If it is vibrating your steering wheel, have the front end looked at right away.

SOURCE: front end wobbles shakes and vibrates

Might try inspecting the tires making sure you dont have any tires that have separated cords. If they look OK rotate the tires and see if the problem changes at all. Hope this helps

SOURCE: My car front end wobbles when braking and at higher speed

did you have the front brake rotors machined, they are warped. either replace the brake rotors or have then machined, I prefer just replacing them as they are fairly cheap.

1990 Chevy 4.3 l engine runs rough at idle half the time-- sometimes it's OK, other days it's rough and can smell raw gas, as tho it's running rich... any ideas?

Lots and lots of things can do this. I would recommend having the knocking sound investigated as the main concern, possibly by a good front-end shop. It could be a c-v joint or bad hub bearing which can allow a wobble in the front brake rotors. This would allow what you call a "judder".

Sometimes rust can form on the brake rotors while the car is parked. This is a weather related problem and if rust is the cause it can wear off to a smooth surface with driving. But a badly pitted rotor will need resurfacing or replacing. It can produce a scuffing sound, but not a knock.

Front tires wobble when brakes are applied

Most likely brake rotors are warped, have them cut or replaced.

Steering wheel shakes at high speed when brakes are applied

This is caused by the front disk brake rotors being warped from heat and running out of true, the wobble of the warped rotors causes the wheel to shake when you apply the brakes, it is worse the higher the speed you apply them at. Have the front rotors machined flat again or just replace them.

When applying brakes - I get a wheel wobble, o.k. when driving normally no wheel wobble. had realignment done about 4 months ago. also when driving on rough or uneven road surface seems like my shock...

it could be the shocks but due to wheel wobble i would say its more to do with worn bushings on the suspension arms etc.... best way to check is to jack up each front corner of the car at a time and shake the wheel see if it has movement side to side or front to rear if so i would reccomend getting it looked at or replacing the bushings :) hoep this helps

Front end wobble, have replaced rotors & pads but still has a wobble.

Discribe your version of wobble. In steering wheel, front suspension? Did you have this checked out by a shop, who gave up on it? Are the brakes related?

Front end vibrates when braking at highway speeds

Most common cause for this is rotors that have become warped. It is not uncommon if you drive fast and brake hard OR live in hilly country or with heavy loads. The brakes get hot - the more they are used the hotter they may get. When they cool they do not cool evenly. If there is enough of the rotor left it may be resurfaced to true it. However - the thinner it gets the less heat it can handle. When rotors reach a minimum thickness (stamped on the rotor) they must be replaced.

THUMPING AND PULSING WHEN BRAKING. WE HAVE CHECKED ALL BRAKES , ROTORS, CALIPERS. WHAT ELSE CAN IT BE. I AM A WOMAN, SO MY EXPLANATION IS THAT IT HAS A BUMPING THUMPING VIBRATION.

on a clear road try gently applying the E brake, see if that produces the feeling, I would say either a rotor is warped (wobbled from side to side due to heat disatortion) or a drum. It is not easy to see these faults, with a wheel off you need to turn the rotor and look for the wobble, it only takes a wobble of 1/16 or 2mm to make the brake pedal pulse. This is a large safety issue as your brakes will be impaired.

Front brakes engaged while driving

the problem will be in the master cylinder compensating port blocked
disc brakes do not have return valves or residual line pressure like drum brakes
if at any time the heated brake fluid is not allowed to expand back into the reservoir it expands and pushes the disc brakes harder on
catch 22 situation
dragging pads generate heat , fluid expands and presses the pads on harder = more heat =more pressure
the rotors have to be running true ( no wobbles) wheel bearings have to be correctly adjusted or replaced and the calliper body has to move freely on the mounting pins to allow for self centering action
instead of the mechanic go to an accredited brake professional shop and have a proper diagnosis and quote done
