Re: won't startup

Try removing the battery and the AC adapter from the laptop and press the power button a few times. This should drain any remaining power from the laptop. Now plug in the AC adapter and try turning it on.

Let me know what happens,

Error why coming

Can you hear any fan or drive sounds? If you don't hear anything at all when you try to turn the laptop on, no little LED's light up, the problem almost certainly isn't related to the hard drive. So if you don't have a live screen, start with the LCD troubleshooting flowchart, and if you don't have any activity at all, start with the power troubleshooting flowchart. Even if the hard drive has failed at the electro/mechanical level and won't spin up, this wont prevent the LED's on the laptop from lighting up, or the LCD from displaying the BIOS information and complaining about the lack of a boot device.

Fan shuts off on computer startup, led lights are

The fans are USUALLY controlled by the processor chip reading its internal temp and running fans as needed. Under the varying load during boot, it is not uncommon to have fans starting and stopping..

Activate windows screen and then says my windows is activated

the obvious question:
is your windows legit?
if it's not you may have a corrupted windows copy, download another copy or buy one in ebay (they're getting cheap).

if it's legit. you have may have a hardware problem so more details may be required.
1. are you doing a clean install, any errors while files are getting copied?
2. do you have hardware that did not come with your computer installed or connected, make sure you disconnect everything and as your computer starts working, reinstall and test 1 piece of hardware at a time.

good luck

The Startup repair program is running and wont stop

A complete scan can take several hours to complete. If you want to shut it all down unplug it and remove the battery. Leave the battery out for at least 10 minutes, and until it cools down.

Compaq notebook won't boot up

When you boot the computer back up go into Safe Mode and check to see if you can roll the computer back to the point before you installed the software.

If so this should work. If it works then run a virus scan, a defrag of the hard drive and cleans the temp files.

You can do a diagnostic startup and uninstall Onecare. So once that it is uninstall ed it should be smooth sailing.

Here is a link for some startup / diagnostic software you could try after booting.

I hope this helps
