Since you want to DIY, I recommend a repair manual from your favorite Auto parts store, or try if they have it, or You will want it next time anyway.

Already replaced new battery, new alternator, fuse, and pt connector - voltage sits at 12.9 running - system still not charging?

It isn't a good idea to disconnect the battery while it is running as the resulting voltage surge can damage electronics. Obviously if it isn't charging there won't be much of a surge...

Some alternators are mounted in rubber to cut noise and vibration. This type needs a ground wire which is sometimes forgotten during replacement and sometimes the ground wire just breaks.

A standard alternator only needs two or three wires and sometimes a ground wire. If the direct connection to the battery is good, the ignition light wire intact and working and if needed a battery sensing wire (though this wire isn't often needed in the last couple of decades) the alternator, if it is any good, will charge the battery at the regulated voltage of about 14.5.
If you are sure the alternator is a good one and it isn't charging the connecting wires must be at fault and need to be checked.

There is one other possibility and that applies only in the case of smart charging systems. If your car has a smart charging system the alternator will have several extra wires, usually plugged into the side of the machine.
The alternator works in a similar way to the standard unit except instruction from a separate control unit is capable of reducing or suspending charging. The smart charge black box talks with the engine management black box and charging is suspended during acceleration to cut fuel consumption or improve acceleration. A fault in the smart charge system can prevent the alternator charging.

Disconnecting the additional wiring will allow the alternator to perform its normal function without interruption. The ignition, charge or battery light is controlled by the black box and can do strange things that mean nothing when the smart charge is disconnected.

Paslode impulse framing gun is dead, no green light

are you sure battery was charged ? if so , then battery contacts or circuit board may be broken.. but its probably a spark unit( little black box in handle of tool) that has gone bad. fairly easy to replace , but little expensive (60-80 dollars)

I have a 2000 VW Golf and am having problems starting it. I had the starter checked it was fine I was told that the ignition was bad so I replaced it, the car still will not start. Now they are telling me...

will not blame anyone 1st have you checked the black fuse box under the hood?if not, then look for main relay box(black) remove the cover, then look under the cover lid for relay locations. find starter relay.have some one Put their finger on top of the black square starter relay, then you turn your key switch to "on" does the relay that the fingers on click? if so,its'good. you also have what garages call a fuseable's a hard black peice of rubber thats located in between the starter and the battery. but 1ST LETS COVER THE MAIN ISSUES WITH NO START! IS BATTERY FULLY CHARGED?A MUST! WHEN YOUR CAR IS ALL THE WAY IN PARK AND YOU TURN THE KEY TO START,NOTHING AS MUCH AS A CLICK? DID YOU HEAR A CLICK? GO TOWARDS A BAD STARTER CONNECTION,OR BAD STARTER.ARE STARTER BOLTS TIGHT? IS BATTERY TERMINALS TIGHT,THINK I ASKED THIS EARLIER BUT JUST 2 B SURE.

Where are the fuses for the a/c on 2008 Honda crv

most likely, you're looking for a bad a/c relay.located under the hood in the black box marked main fuse and relay. look on the drivers side,or passenger side for the black box. {if your a/c isn't working,it may be due to a low charge of 134a to the a/c unit itself.] the a/c will quit working if the charge of 134a is low. the a/c will blow inside the car, but will not will not be cold.thank you for choosing

I have model G1010USB battery backup and it has been plugged in for more than 48 hours and the battery capacity has never changed and showed it the battery is charged up or not it, the boxes just stay...

Is this unit new or used? Either way, the first thing to check is if the battery is plugged in. UPS units are shipped with one of the battery leads disconnected for safety purposes. Please remove the front plastic bezel and verify the battery is plugged in. If it is new, and you followed the instructions correctly, you could have a bad battery or charging unit in the UPS. Please contact technical support for the manufacturer.

If you have a used UPS, disconnect the battery connections and use a multimeter to check for existing voltage on the battery. If it is completely dead after a charge cycle, it is quite possible the battery is bad and needs replacement.

Pm0418000does not charge. the muffler has a hole toward the generator and it probably overheated the field poles.the black box unit in the back of the generator has a burst what it looks like a turn signal...

That "Turn Signal Flasher", sounds to me, suspiciously like a Capacitor, especially if it has "Blown" I think your "Black Box" has taken a hit & is stopping the output. I would think replacement is your only option.. well unless you can replace the parts and fix it?
