Recording from camcorder problems

UGH This thing is driving me nuts! I have everything set up far as I know. The camcorder (Hi-8) plays it on the TV just fine, but when I hit the Record button, it goes to an all black/gray screen. I have audio still, just can't see anything. Tried 1 disc, and it recorded the same black/gray screen. These are 8x -R discs. I have belly dancers hollering at!!

Re: Recording from camcorder problems

Does the unit display what it's pointed at on its display screen or on the viewfinder? if the unit will play a disk but not record the problem may be in the lense or the video sensor. Check if the autofocus operates by running your hand across the front of the unit. if the autofocus knob or lever doesn't turn it may be the power. otherwise it may not operate with -R but only with +R disks?

On a Panasonic DMR-EZ48V I get a U56 error message when selection drives? When I scroll down from DVD to SD then VHS. When on SD scrolling to down to choose VHS drive, U56 appears on DMR-EZ48V's screen? I...

I think it is usb, not sure why that happens though. Panasonic for some very weird reason mixes upper and lower case letters in some of their on screen bits, so you never know for sure.
I know nothing about this stuff but was having a similar problem with not being able to get the dvd recorder to record onto a dvd.
This was after I had set up the camcorder to the set the day before.
I finally went to 'input select' on the remote and changed it until it worked again, just go through each setting until everything is back to normal.
Somehow, it appears as if the dvd recorder got itself set to the camcorder and would not let go of that setting without changing the input select. I have no idea why because I never touched the input select before this, I always controlled everything with the Directv remote. Hope this helps someone.

Lost instructions, cannot create DVD from cam-corder recording

Thanks, I already solved the problem. There was no "Setup" button (on the remote, anyway) to follow the instructions given -- in the manual, which I downloaded!.

Instead, I remembered that "Input" often allows you to select a source for something, so when I chose THAT button, I was able to choose the port that had my cam-corder.

Then I simply pressed record on the DVD player while Play on the C-C.

Please check page-14 of user manual of Funai MWD2205 VCR/DVD Combo for recording in VCR from Camera or some thing else as external source.
Here you can download User Manual for your unit, in case you dont have it.
Need further help, let me know and post here.
Thank you.
