Question about Epson WorkForce Office Equipment & Supplies
I have checked rear paper feed in print properties, but it still pulls paper from the cassette tray. I am printing from Word using card stock. If I put one pc of card stock in the rear paper tray first the printer will eject it then pull from the cassette tray. If I just try to print without putting the paper in the rear it pulls from the cassette (It used to read not to load paper in rear, then when the printer started up it would change to load paper in rear. I would then load 1 pc in rear feed and it worked, but not anymore. Using MS XP now. When printer was feeding from rear I was using Win 7, but after updating from the update utility my Win 7 laptop crashed. Before it crashed I kept getting notification of update available for printer. At that time printer was working good, but started not letting me get into printer properties. When I would click on properties it wouldn't do anything... so I thought I needed to go ahead and do the update. Win 7 crashed after the update so now using my old dell XP desktop. Any suggestions as to what I should check?

SOURCE: feeds paper crooked
Lexmark printers are hyper sensitive to dust..It might be causing this problem...Take a cotton swab dip it in alcohol and press it against the roller whilw pressing the paper feed button....
If this doesn't work you should try a longer procedure...Remember you have to look real hard..
It's possible that the paper may be running into a foreign object and not feeding in at all. A foreign object could also cause the paper to stall, or even feed-in crooked. Remove all the paper and use a flashlight to look carefully into the paper feed-in area. Look for a pen, pencil, push pin, paper clip, candy, etc. If you can't see anything, then actually pick your printer up and turn it so the paper opening is facing down and shake it a little, side to side. Your trying to dislodge anything that might be stuck in the paper entrance area. If nothing falls out, then turn it back over and use the flashlight to once again look inside that area. Sometimes you'll see an object that may have moved over into view while you were shaking the printer. Any foreign object might block the paper from actually being able to move forward, so then the printer thinks there is no paper installed. You may have to even remove the Top Cover to be able to get a better view of that paper feed area. Unfortunatly, just removing that cover is not always that easy, especially on the newer printers. You may need a Service Manual for reference, disassembly and troubleshooting. I have not checked, but you can normally find Service Manuals for most printers, at www.2manuals.com (most Service Manuals can usually be downloaded for around $10 +/- ). Even if there is not a foreign object stuck in that area, with the top cover off, you might just possibly see what the problem is and even be able to correct it..

I had the same problem and couldn't figure it out until I found this on the web - I changed the DEP setting and now I can print just fine. Hope this helps you too!!

I just figured out my issue. It had to do with DEP − Data Execution
Prevention. I had remembered that I was fooling around with this a couple
weeks ago and had changed it to "Turn on DEP for all programs and services
except those I select" in which I had Windows Explorer checked. I just got
done selecting the original which states "Turn on DEP for essential Windows
programs and services only", rebooted, and now I can print again to my hp
The DEP can be found under control panel−>system−>Advanced Tab−>Performance
Settings−>Data Execution Prevention Tab
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: paper wont feed propaly
Something probably fell into that tiny pinch of an area where the paper goes. I have found everything from a Tostito crumb to a chip of drywall blocking my paper feed. Flip your machine over, poke it if you have to, and shake it around til the little bugger falls out.

I just spend over an hour on the phone with Canon for the same problem... the resolution is simple. From the Control Panel, select Printers & Faxes. Right-click the mp620 printer, and select Properties. Select Printing Preferences from the bottom of the General tab, then click the Page Setup tab. Choose Print Options at the bottom. Place a check mark in the box next to "Disable the paper source setting of the application software." Click OK 3 times and the problem should be solved.
