Not a good brand to buy its low end. However thats an old model so you would have to keep looking on Ebay for something like that.

Technics SU-CH900 turn off when the volume up ....

That's usually caused by incorrect loading (eg: 2 ohms on a 4 ohm circuit) or failed components in the power supply or final amplifier stages.

I have a technics hifi su-ch900 everytime I play a cd or cassette or have the tuner the sound cuts out when its slightly loud, on low volume its fine. I have checked the cables and they are correctly...

I found a link to a CH900 that switched off completely.
If you are not a technician, please don't open the amplifier.
But I think it will be a simple repair. It is not the same problem, but it looks a little simelar.

Also found a service manual, but not complete. Still here is the link

Why does stereo amp cut out at higher volume

You seem to have the answers to your question. I would just resolder the connections anyway without checking. If it solves the problem you have saved yourself a lot of money. If it doesn't follow the other steps in order of cheapness!

Does the SU-G88 AMP carry a remote control and can you advise where I can buy one from? Is the amp for sale and how much?

Search engines would reveal those answers faster than waiting for one of us to do it for you.

It DOES use a remote.

Fixya experts provide free advice that would otherwise not be available online or easy to locate, not sales or a proxy search engine service.

Amp cuts out

most of these type systems have feedback path which shuts down the system once there is excess heating in the regulating transistor... i think there must be something getting shorted when u turn the volume up.....
