Well if you have an HDMI output on your pc you can use that or if the TV has a VGA input you can use a VGA cord and select your TV input to PC

No input signal recommended settings hp vs15 monitor 1024x768 60h

old monitor 1280 x 1024
power light on?
OSD work?
if it said on the screen no input sig, then that is 100% true
the PC is not sending output.

check the video cable connections both ends
then if bad, boot PC to safe mode. does that work.
then maybe you set the PC graphic resolution too high for the monitor. use safe mode to set new , legal resolution
1280 x 1024 is max, do not exceed, the horz, vert, reso to the left here. if you do the monitor , will display, out of range. errors.

im confused, you show HP monitor then Sam.
why ?
my guess is HP question posted in SAM section.
so here is my HP answer
1280 x 768 @ 75Hz

if your PC or other device exceeds any of those. this old monitor
will go blank.
HOR, vert and refresh rates max.

to solve this riddle, set the PC to
1280 x 768
then connect monitor and bingo.
but there is a chicken and egg deal here.
if the display car is over this, as most new systems are.
then use safe mode to set the resolution to 1280 x 768
and reboot to normal mode.
boot and it F8 , safemode.

My HP Pavilion 1903 monitor keeps going to sleep every time I turn it on

check in your monitor menu to ensure there is no energy save mode set. press the menu button on your monitor and check the settings. ensure that your pc also does not have an energy save setting set. e.g if the mouse or keyboard are not touched for a specific time e.g. 1 minute then switch off monitor to save power. make sure that such settings are not switched to on in your pc settings. if this is a new monitor and this was not a problem with your old monitor then suspect the monitor settings if the monitor and pc are both new. then suspect both settings. if possible test the monitor on a second pc or laptop to see if problem persists.

My monitor's color is messed up, when i start the computer all the icons and background are colored normally, after a few seconds it all goes to just about black and white. im sure it has to be settings of...

your monitor's backlite circuit board is gone, it's not able to sustain the signal from the PC
change the monitor and checkm else connect the faulty monitor to another PC and check.
because if it's settings, then the setting reside inside the HD of the PC, so if you change PC then the monitor should pick up the setting from the new PC and vice versa.

Cannot stop monitor adjustment box from comming up every minute or two ,very annoying, please help.

Hello,

A few suggestions.

1. check all cords- plugged in to computer, plugged into monitor- no bent pins etc..

2. Virus scan

3. Restore computer to a time before this problem ocurred.

4. A warning - Selecting incorrect monitor settings may damage some monitors. For information on the settings your monitor supports, see your monitor documentation.

I suggest that you adjust your monitor settings. you can right click on your desk top, go to properties, select settings, and advanced. I suggest that you make small minor adjustments.

HDTV as pc monitor-no digital signal

Try different Resolutions/DPI and Refressh rates the other possibility is settings on the monitor check the manual of the monitor for use with the pc as in resolution etc.
Newer monitors oftem change there own settings to best suit themselves or act differently if forced to use different settings.
The returning to 16bit seems odd though only other suggestion is trying updated video card drivers from the vendors site.
