Thank you for your post, Linda!

I see that you are having difficulties with your Frigidaire freezer, LFFU14F5HWC, changing on the display and the inside light is flashing off. This sounds like a possible problem with your panel or socket. I would recommend performing a reset on your freezer and you can do that by unplugging the power cord for at least ten minutes. If this does not help correct your issue I would suggest having a professional technician out to perform proper repairs. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt

Possibly has a restricted capillary tube. Possibly has a extremely dirty condenser coil. Possibly has a bad compressor which will run but has bad valves so it doesnt actually pump the refrigerant. If the condenser coil has a fan (unlikely) it may be dead and causing the unit to run much higher pressures than normal which could cause this. Only thing you really could do would be clean the condenser coil. Anything else would need to be repaired by an Refrigeration Mechanic.

on the compressor there's a start device but they call it a controller part number 216954200 and it's around 40 to 50 dollars.do you hear a clicking sound every couple of minutes or did you smell a burning smell.it sounds like the compressor isn't running if the freezer is warm,also on the model number there should be a dw and a number at the end,you have to get the model number off of the machine not the book.unplug the machine,remove the back bottom panel and you'll see the compressor,remove the metal clip and slide the controller off of the compressor,when this part fails if you shake it and hear pieces banging around you'll know it's bad or it might smell burnt or you can check it with a meter for continuity.don't remove any wires until you get the new part so you don't get confused when installing the new part.also do you know if the compressor is running?if it is you could have a freon leak in the saeled system,if so change it out.i looked up this machine,do you defrost this yourself?i can't find any defrost parts and how old is this freezer?

My freezer stopped freezing. It is running, but the food inside is not frozen solid. The electronic controls on the front are set at 0 degrees but keep flashing ff.

Can be a number of things, but the easy ones to check are;

Check that the door is closing properly and is not being pushed open by frost just inside the door or badly packed food.

Check the grills on the condenser for fluff and dust. This is generally found on the rear, or underneath hidden by a slotted grill.

If they are OK, then you need to make a service call as the fridge may need topping up with refrigerant. Could also be a fault with the defrost system sticking.

Electrolux engineer says the following

Based on the symptoms you are describing it sounds like the temperature control is in the OFF position. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try activating your freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently changing the temperature setting. I hope these troubleshooting tips help you in some small way. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if the unit's status has changed successfully.

Frezzer keeps icein over

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

There are several things to check:

1.) Door Gasket -Take a piece of paper. With the freezer door closed run the paper around the gasket. If you can do that, then you are not getting a good seal.
Repair: Clean the freezer door gasket with soap and water. While still wet, take a hair dryer and a spatula, going around the gasket, heat the gasket while pulling the gasket out to expand it.
Note: This only solves the problem if there is frost in the front area of your freezer.

2.) Freezer fan not working - In some cases, The freezer fan helps to prevent warm air from getting into the freezer.

3.) Food Storage - Make sure you do not overload the freezer, and that the food product is inside the bounds of the racks.

4.) Fresh Food Section Air Vent Wide Open - This is your probable cause: Heat goes to Cold like a magnet. When you open your fresh food section door and then close it you are forcing warm air up the vent that goes to the freezer. You probably have a broken air vent assembly.

The fan on my true t 23f does not run. i check it is not getting power is there a fuzz or capacitor for this thanks

Are you talking about the fan inside the freezer? If yes, check the following items. The door has a switch that turns the lights off when the door closes, it also turns the fan off when you open the door. If it isn't working right the fan won't come on. There is also a round temperature senser on the coil inside the freezer called a "clickson" that keeps the fan from coming on until the coils are below 20 degrees, it may be bad. If you are low on freon, your coils may not be getting cold enough to trip the clickson. Feel of the small copper line going from the compressor to the coils on the outside of the freezer. It should be almost hot enough to burn your skin if you have enough freon. One other thing to check is the defrost timer. It is a box about 4 inches wide and 8 inches tall with a door on the front of it. Check the connections inside to be sure you are getting power through to the fan. Let me know how it turns out.

The alarm light is flashing, the freezer seem to be working,

Most all cooling systems need to be in an ambient temp of about 60-65 degrees. If not, it needs a low ambient control. This helps keep the high side pressure high enough so you have the proper pressure drop accross the expansion device. This applies to coolers, freezers, a/c units, and so on. I also think, if it keeps things frozen like you want, where's the problem? You make have a control just acting stupid.
