Question about Saeco Vienna Plus Espresso Machine

Open Question

How do I synchronise the brew group with the machine to insert the former?

I cannot insert the brew group into my Saeco Veinna plus. I have done this scores of time in the past, but it appears that the male part with slots in the back of the chamber for the brew group does not align with the little ridges in the socket at the back of the brew group. I have moved the moving parts of the group this way and that for more than an hour yes, really! but when I insert the brew group it slides in up to the point where the female socket part in group should slide over the male part in the machine, it just does not move any further. The ridges at either side near the bottom of the group fits perfectly in the corresponding grooves of the machine. Please help!

SOURCE: Brew group will not go back in.

I have solved this problem many times...
First remove steam knob by depressing small clip on shaft of knob and pulling the knob out...gently. Note where the dials in the bean tank are set to, you will have to position these knobs to the same position upon reassembly.
Remove the 2 bean tank screws and remove the bean tank.
Remove the 2 screws holding on the top cover.
Lift the top cover off enough to get to the circuit board.
Unplug one of the 3 wire connectors along the top of the circuit board, turn the machine on and it will start to turn the splined shaft.
At the 180 degree point turn the machine off.
If it does not cycle through to 180 degrees then try the other 3 wire plug... one of them will be the right one.
Put the brew group back into the machine and reassemble.
This repair will take you less than 10 mins. from start to finish.

Saeco Royal Digital Plus - I cannot insert the brew unit into the machine

Hi Remove the dredge drawer. Open the right side door. On the left side and towards the back of the brew group, there is a single screw. Remove the screw. Grab the handle and pull carefully, but firmly. The brew group should come out. There is a piece that remains in the machine. Slide the piece down and to the right and it will come off. Insert the piece into the hole on the backside of the brew group with the clip up. Tighten the screw and move brew group back into position. To return the brew group to the centered position, you first need to drop the funnel. To do this, look on the opposite side of the brew group from the handle. At the top you will see an object that looks like a sharks fin. If you follow this piece down you will see 2 horizontal bars on the brew group body. Push your finger between these 2 bars and the funnel will drop. Now you can push the puck slide on the left side down and to the center. If you look down through the funnel you should see a piston. This should be centered in the funnel. If not just push the slide to the right until it does. Push the press button and you are now ready to reinsert the brew group in to the machine. First you must close the door, insert the dredge drawer and turn on the machine without having the brew group in. You will hear the motor turn on and when it stops completely, open the door, pull out the dredge drawer and insert the brew group. Done PS: If it still won't go in you might have a broken brew drive. The gear in the back of the machine where the brew unit goes has 2 large teeth. They should be in the 10:00 and 12:00 position. If they are in the 3:00 and 5:00 or that side you have a broken drive and the gears need to be replaced.

The brew group is stuck and will not come out

I hope one of this two solutions solve your problem.

1- The brew group is out of place. Turn the machine on. Close the service door.
The brew group is automatically placed in the correct position.

2-Coffee grounds drawer is inserted. Remove the dregdrawer first, then the brew
group.

Hi, I have a saeco odea giro plus that has just started to leak nearly all of the brewed coffee into the dreg drawer! Any ideas? thanks in advance...

I had a crack in the tube that connected to the brew group that resulted in a similar dumping of coffee in the dregs (and below the dreg drawer and onto the counter) in my Saeco Odea Giro. Replacing the "Saeco Odea Giro Coffee Dispensing Tube, part number 11003468, fixed my problem. You can replace this yourself if you are very handy. These photos are very helpful (The Go seems pretty similar to the Giro.) http://odeago.zxq.net/Odea_Go_Repair/Welcome.html

If the light is still then means that either the water tank is empty or the bean hopper is empty.
If the light is blinking then the Dump box, brew group, or drip tray not properly positioned or service door not closed.
So you can make a very good visual check one by one if they are in right position.
Good luck.

Cannot release the brew group for, saeco

Group is stuck in mid cycle due to some obstruction. You will need to have it serviced. Though it's possible to jiggle and pull it out. The machine will not likely reset itself, preventing you from re-inserting the group. Still requires a service to manually remove obstruction and reset it.

Try adjusting the grind four numbers coarser and brew a coffee, if you are getting the same result then the brew unit is clogged and the screen needs to be cleaned.

Odea giro plus gear that drives the brew group has broken 3 times

The coffee is being ground too fine usually. Also not cleaning the brew group and lubricating it regularly can cause this.

The gears are standard plastic and any excessive force will cause them to break. The only things that cause excessive force to gears on saeco machines is fine coffee compacting in the brew group and/or a dirty brew group that gets stuck and does not cycle properly.

Hi
Open the front door. Remove the driptray. On the left back side of the brew group, there is a single screw. If your brew group did not come out call a service center.
To return the brew group to the centered position, you first need to drop the funnel. To do this look on the opposite side of the brew group from the handle. At the top you will see an object that looks like a sharks fin. Push the "Press" button and the shark fin moves up and down. If you follow this piece down you will see 2 horizontal bars on the brew group body. Push your finger between. these 2 bars and the funnel will drop. Now you can push the puck slide on the left side down and to the center. If you look down through the funnel you should see a piston. This should be centered in the funnel. Saeco Vienna gear jammed

This has happened to me. If the problem is the brew group gear is in the wrong position, you can manipulate the brew group until it matches up with the drive gear in the machine. You'll know it matches if you can insert the brew group back in the machine full until it clicks.
