Go into your windows control panel and check out the sound icon.
Under the sound window check for proper operation by picking an event that has a sound associated with it. Click on the arrow. If it is working, the icon will lose intensity while the sound plays and then goes back to normal. If this does not happen, make sure that the driver is installed. U can always go to device manager and have the existing driver re installed. If re installing the driver does not do the trick, then either something is wrong with the audio circuits of your mo bo or there is an anomaly with your speaker setup/wiring/power.

Hello,

Check the connection between your speaker and your computer. You can also try using a headphone if it produces sound. If none seems to work, then scan your computer with RadarSync to check if the drivers are updated. If the sound driver is outdated, then you would need to update them. You can use RadarSYnc to update by it's not free but affordable and worth your money.

My windows media player has no sound,ya the volume

Assuming you did not get a device error while attempting to play there is a sound device thing in control pannel open it and tell it to place a sound icon in the taskbar once the icon is in the taskbar double click it and make sure all volumes are on high and make sure none are checked mute. If this does not work for you you may have a more serious problem and will need to repost.

Device manager is showing PCI Deice missing

Hi you should try the motherboard website for drivers. Usually drivers that come with Windows XP are generic.
Try going in to Device manager, Uninstall the driver and reinstalling the driver that you downloaded from motherboard vendor site.

Most online audio makes use of Adobe Flash, did you check that?
Best is to download and install the latest version of Flash to make sure.

Installing the latest version of DirectX for Windows XP can also help (9.0c).

Please also check for further suggestions about fixing sound problems in Windows XP.
