Hey Terry,
Not supported, but still a valid and legal piece of software. Do not provide Keys here.

User: If you has a name Brand system like Dell/HP, the Key will be on a sticker on the Box. If that key does not work, see if you have any other identifying numbers on the box, you can call Microsoft and give them the key that is not working, they will give you one that works. Although Win XP is not l,supported now, but it is still widely in use in 3rd World Countries.

It shouldn't be to hard to get one seeing Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Most definitely. If the drive failed a S.M.A.R.T. test or DFT (drive fitness test) then replace the drive and re-install your OS, drivers etc.

Windows all of a sudden does not recognize the 100GB hard drive. Message is that the USB device has failed. Running XP on all of my computers and plugging this drive into any of them fails.

There's a possible that the harddrive is corrupted, or could be the usb cable itself, have you tried connecting a different usb cable for the harddrive? If so and still doesnt work have it covered by the manufacturer of the harddrive

I don´t get any harddrive acceped in the installation during installing Windows XP after monting an new harddroive, I have formated the drive before monting it!

Is the XP an Upgrade or Full install disk? - the upgrade will NOT install unless there is a 'qualifying' OS there first. Onl the Full version will install onto a blank HD.

Mecer wont load wi xp sp2 on 160gig hardrive

Hi,

The BIOS is seeing the drive but your computer can only see about 120-130 GB of harddrive. If the drive has a pin option to limit it's size you may be able to limit it then install windows but if it doesn't you're back to looking for a smaller drive.

Hope this helps

Need to install install XP PRO on used cluttered hardrive.

Please follow this excellent guide XP Pro Clean Install to lead you through the process.
Check first to be sure your system meets the requirements for an installation of XP.
Also make sure beforehand that you back up any documents or files you wish to save from the old drive, because you will not have access to them after installation. Make sure you have a CD with Drivers for the hardware installed on your system; you will need these to access the internet once you install the new OS. Also be sure to have downloaded AntiVirus software installation files so you can load this onto the new system before going online.
You could, if you choose, buy a new hard drive and install your existing drive as a slave to the new master on your existing computer. In this way, you will still have access to all your old files and documents, without having to back them up.
Best of luck, and enjoy XP!

I WANT TO INSTALL MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP 2007....AND IT'S KEEPING ON SAYING I SHOULD INSTAL HARD DRIVE......HOW CAN I GO ON ABOUT IT.... MY EMAIL IS.... olyholly001@yahoo.com

Also - if it is telling you to install a hard drive - then your bios is not reconizing that you have a hard drive installed. Go into your Bios to see if your hard is listed. if not - you need to open your computer to make sure all the connections are correct. if this doesn't work, you may have to buy a new hard drive.
