Question about Epson WorkForce WF-7620 Wireless Color All-in-One Inkjet Printer
Quote: "...It could mean the above jam, paper jam, bad ink cartridge, a needed re-install of the epson software, a bad internet connection, bad phone line, etc... " End quote.
this supposed to be a functioning MF printer not an error producing device.
It's a bad, poorly designed, defective product! Best is to buy another brand. Don't buy Epson consumer junk products with design flaws, it's not worth the aggravation!
I bought it for our small business as we besides scanning and copying also need to print 11x17.
The headache, loss of income and time this has cost us is not worth it.
I will look for a similar function device but another more quality and reliable brand. I'm done with Epson, Model 0x9D

One FixYa answer was this:
0x9D is a stuck ink cartridge holder (carriage). Turn the printer off. Open the scanner to expose the carriage. When it moves to the left during post up stop it by pulling the power cable. Move the carriage it all the way to the left, close the scanner and then power it up. It should move freely now and work normally.
BUT... the error is like the red (????) light on a car's dashboard...It could mean the above jam, paper jam, bad ink cartridge, a needed re-install of the epson software, a bad internet connection, bad phone line, etc... Lastly, it could mean junking the printer if it's out of warranty. You could opt to have epson fix it, but that's up to you.

Tips for a great answer:

Best way to test this issue is to unplug from the network, power off machine and back on then see if the error comes back. If it does not then try some internal test prints, if they print OK there is a corrupt print job being sent to the printer causing it to have the 49 error code.
I would clear all print queue jobs then upgrade firmware, this should fix it, printing from some websites cause this error, try another brouser if possible, Chrome etc.
