You can try this.. turn the player on an UNplug it WHILE ITS STILL running the movie. wait 15-20 seconds an plug it back in. it should rest. good luck.

To watch tv programs the vcr unit must be on. if off i lose the video signal.....help

The tv signal is running thru your vcr tuner instead of your tv tuner.
Hook the incoming coax/cable or antenna wire to the tv instead of the vcr.

I am trying to hook up my Pioneer vsx-455 to a LG LED LCD TV. I am not sure on how to do this and I can not find a manual anywhere. Can you help me?

your reciever does not have hdmi, so the audio is not going to be true DD+ or DTS for broadcast tv.

if your dvd/blue ray player has digital optical spdif, this can be used to transfer the encoded DD+/DTS digital audio.

the besat way to run your tv audio through the reciever is to hook up the dvd/blue ray player up with (perferrably) digital optical spdif, composite spdif or (least favorably) through the stereo stereo analog inputs on the reciever for "dvd" audio in and hook the video from the dvd/blue ray up to the corresponding "dvd" video component input on the reciever.

this way is only going to get your dvd/blue ray sound, next you need to hook up your cable box to the reciever so that you can get broadcast tv sound. hook up the cable box audio to the "tv" stereo analog audio ins, and hook the video to the corresponding "tv" video component inputs.

the component video inputs have separate jacks for red, green and blue ( labeled "Y" "Pb" and "Pr") and are capable of carrying a 1080p full hd signal. use the component video outputs on the reciever to output the video signal to a component video input on the tv, using the receiver's input selector to change the video source.

8' Optical Cable from TV to Receiver and Signal is Breaking Up

Before you buy anything try checking the AUDIO Settings in the Menu of Each Device (Mostly TV) and see if they are set to PCM or BITSTREAM. HDMI is mostly set to PCM while Optical is generally Bitstream. The TV may be set to the opposite of what it needs to be. I would try to get PCM to work first cause it is Better, If not then set what you can to Bitstream and it should pass. Also check in TV Menu for SOUND OUT or AUDIO OUT or SPEAKERS. Some TV's have a problem passing Audio through when they are already Outputting them to it's own Speakers! I Hope this Helps out!

''no signal'' message on blue screen after watching for 10-30 min

First try another signal input like a DVD player or other source, is the signal displayed ok? Then you have lost the signal on one input from whatever the device is.

Can i hook up to my satelite dish direct or do i have to go thru my receiver first. Thanks; Delmar currah@mts.net

The satelite dish will not pass-through the video/audio from your DVD player. You will need to find an open area (preferably DVD selector) on your receiver to input the DVD video/audio. Most satelite boxes are one way devices.

Satelite box --> Receiver (satelite input)--> TV
DVD Player --> Receiver (DVD Player input) --> TV

or

Satelite box --> TV
DVD Player --> TV

Panasonic legacy connection

s-video is a legacy connection. legacy means obsolete and this will impare your image.

what you should do is connect the cable box and blue ray directly to tv with hdmi cable, then run audio cables back to the reciever from these devices. the vcr and regular dvd player would be routed through the reciever the conventional way. you would have to change the inputs on the tv between the cable box, and blue ray if u have one, and a seperate single tv imput for components running thru the stereo. you would have to use the reciever to select between audio sources, and the video sources between the vcr and dvd only.
