No problem, try to charge it again. Now make sure you are using a good cable and a good charger. After you plugged the charger in, the screen should come on after a few minutes, to show a red (empty) battery logo.
Then after it is charged (could take a few hors) it is supposed to work normal.

You have not stated any model no. which makes it hard to provide a solution.
The iPod A1136 is the fifth generation iPod from Apple that uses a click wheel to scroll through your device's media library, and may occasionally lock up when you attempt to play a song or display a photo. This error error occurs when the hard disk is unable to access the information and stalls while opening a file. A reset of the device usually corrects the problem, as it clears the device's memory and any errors. Check your iPod's buttons to determine if the cause is due to a hardware error before resetting the device, as the problem may be due to the iPod's hold switch. Slide the hold switch at the top of the iPod to the right, and slide it back to the left to ensure the switch is in the off position. Hold down the center button in the click wheel, and at the same time hold down "Menu" on the click wheel. Continue to hold the iPod's buttons until the device's screen shuts off, turns back on and shows the Apple logo. Plug the iPod's connector cable into the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod. Plug the other end of the cable into your computer's USB or FireWire port to charge the iPod. Wait at least two hours for the iPod to charge. Launch iTunes on the computer, and click "Controls" of the iTunes menu. Click "Eject iPod" in the sub-menu to disconnect the device. The iPod takes four hours to completely charge its battery.
Hope this helps.

Whenever i plug my ipod into wither my wall charger or my laptop,it turns on and works fune. it says it is fully charged. then when i un-plug it it wont turn on

Your battery if fu.k.d up.  Take the thing back to Apple store for free replacement if your within one year and you didn't spill any water on it. You don't even need your receipt cause they just type your serial # in to see if it is within the 1 year warranty.

My iPod shuffle will not charge

If iPod shuffle won’t turn on or respond
â If the status light blinks orange when you press a button, the iPod shuffle buttons are
disabled. Press and hold Play/Pause (’) for about three seconds, until the status light
blinks green.
â Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer. Your iPod shuffle
battery may need to be recharged.
â Turn iPod shuffle off, wait five seconds, and then turn it on again.
â You may need to restore iPod shuffle software. See “Updating and Restoring
iPod shuffle Software” on page 26.

Ipod wont charge

Hey, I had this problem last year with my ipod mini. Unfortunately mine was out of its guarantee which meant Apple would not fix it for me - even though it was there fault as it had a faulty logic board! So as no-one would fix it for me in Ireland, I sent it to England.Their web address is ukipodrepairs.co.uk. They are situated in Brighton. It cost me £90, but it was well worth it, and I had it back within a week.
