You have to tell us make and model to get precise help.

This is a guess: On some machines LF means Long Fill. In other works it is taking too long to get water into the machine for some reason and the machine just stops.

Try the following:

  • Water supply vales are not fully open. Open the valves.
  • Water supply pressure is too low. This may require a plumber to find and fix.
  • Inlet screen at either the inlet water valve or at the end of the hose at the washing machine is plugged. Clean the screens.

Good luck.

SOURCE: LF error code

I had a similar problem with an LF code. I had installed "no burst" hoses which have a smaller inside diameter then regular hoses. I switched back to regular hoses and the problem seems to have been eliminated.

SOURCE: Kenmore Oasis has LF code on and won't reset

The LF code indicates "Long Fill" which means it is taking too long for the water to fill the washer (times out). From the owner's manual:

"LF" (Washer is taking too long to fill)
Check the following:
Are the water inlet hoses kinked or clogged?
Are the water inlet valve screens clear?
Press STOP to clear display.

Here's a suggestion I found that worked for me:

Check your drain hose to see it it's stuffed too far down the standpipe. Another poster had this problem and it gave her LF errors. If the drain hose hangs down too far it can siphon water out of the washer, and then the washer thinks it's taking too long too fill. There's supposed to be a U-shaped plastic bracket that sets the length of the drain hose where it goes into the standpipe. Your installer may have tossed it.

SOURCE: errror code LF

If the water fill time exceeds ten minutes, the water valves are turned off and "LF" is flashed. This will be an issue that concerns the pressure switch. Follow the procedure below to address this issue further.

The water level switch(aka pressure switch), is responsible for regulating the water fill level in this situation. It does this through a plastic tube which runs from the switch in the control console down to the side of the outer tub, near the bottom . The tube is filled with air. As water enters the tub it also enters the tube. As water climbs inside the tube, it pushes on the air trapped inside and increases the air pressure. When the air pressure reaches a certain level, it triggers the switch.

I would advise to Inspect the air tube for kinks, breaks or damage. The tube should also be free of water. The tubing should be securely connected to the bottom of the outer tub and to the bottom of the water level switch. If there is water present, the switch must be replaced.

The water level switch has three connectors. Label and disconnect the wires from the switch. Test the switch for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. It will be necessary to test each of the three possible pairs. replace the switch if it fails the continuity test.

F error code "kenmore top load" washer oasis he3

Hi
LF means Long Fill, this error flashes when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on OR water has disengaged the basket but control does not detect a water level change. Check whether water supply is connected and turned on. Make sure the hose is not blocked and hose screen is clear. If so make sure pressure hose connection to machine/motor control is fine. Also check the continuity of water inlet valve, use a multimeter to check the continuity. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

What does LF mean - my kemore washer quit working

hello

mean while LF error code indicates that the water temperature sensor reading is out of range (below 23 degrees F or above 217 degrees F).

The LF error code is an indication of a water temperature sensor error. There is a chance that there is a loose wire connection on the water temperature

however, what you need to do tp fix up the problem is to unscrew the washer then clean up all forms of dry and water you can seen in it with this the problem of the LF error code is solve .

please make sure that all form of power supply is put OFF before you can do this

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

What does LF mean on the rinse cycle?

"LF" is a Long Fill error. If the fill time exceeds roughly 10 minutes, the fill valves are shut down and the error code is generated. If the error does not clear, or keeps reoccurring, it is recommended that you doublecheck to make sure your water taps are on all the way and check the hoses for kinks or clogs. If everything checks okay, check the screens on the fill valve for sediment build up. You may need to replace the valve. I hope this helps you.
