What kind of Adapter are you using?
Is it a voltage changer?
Ore does it let you plug a three prong plug into a two plug outlet?

I need to know where the power switch to my vintage sewmor sewing machine is

It depends on the model of your sewing machine. Usually, there is a push button switch somewhere on the machine. However, some machines did not have an on/off button--just activated as soon as they were plugged in to the electrical outlet.

Sewing machine won't run.

1. Make sure the machine isn't set for bobbin rewind. Also, try to move the control hookup around slightly to ensure it is making a good connection.
2. Is it possible the power switch looks like it is on but isn't because of the surrounding light? Check this and the outlet you are using.
3. Is the sewing machine light on? A puppy biting in the wire could have caused a short so a pro will have to check the guts of the machine.

How do I replace power switch on unidentified sewing machine?

Um, unless we actually have experience with your particular machine, how can we offer specific answers?

In general: Disassemble machine far enough to access power switch. Remove switch. Obtain matching switch. Install. Reassemble machine. Done.

My brother sewing machine wont come on

test the outlet is working ok, then test the power adaptor, ensure the light on the machine is on and try working your way up the cable incase the cable is broken, if there is no light on the adaptor but is g etting warm after a while then one can assume it is working but this is not a 100% test. if it stays cold it could be defective and needs replacing. if you have another adaptor of the same type try using that to see if the machine works. best is to take to a repair shop or send it back to Brother if it is still under garantee.

I hope this was useful.

My Pfaff model 1211 machine won't come on. The power switch has been replaced but no light and no power for stitching

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere as the power seems intermittent. Consult your repair man to check the electrics.

No power to machine, checked power cords were all plugged in properly and plugged into outlet, still can not turn on light or machine to operate

If you have a light to light up the sewing area, this light has to be on or the machine will not work.
The switch should be next to were the cord goes in the machine.

When I use the presser foot nothing happens. The machine is plugged in, turned on and everything is set up correctly. I was told my a not so reliable source that the motor may be shot. But, the machine...

even though it's only used moderately the motor can go out,
does the light come on?
try plugging the sewing machine into a different outlet
check to make sure the power cord is pushed all the way in
it also may be the power cord itself that has gone out
it could also be the on & off switch

I have a Juki MO-655. I just threaded the machine, plugged it in and when I turn it on the light comes on but the motor doesn't start when I press the foot control. I have all the doors on the machine...

I also have the Juki M)-655. Look at the power button; it should have 3 positions. First position turns the power switch Off, second position turns the power switch on and it will sew, third position turns on both the power switch and the sewing light. Several times I have thought I turned on the power switch to sew only to realize it was not in the second position. Hope this helps.

Power doesn't work!

Disconnect, re-connect. If there is power at the outlet and the machine does not have any power, you may need a new power cord.

Or, it could be the switch is broken (internally).

Have the machine checked by a sewing machine service person.

White swing machine will not turn on

begin by checking the power. plug something else into that outlet to be sure it has power. if it does, plug the sewing machine in again and check it.

if it still doesn't start up you will most likely have to replace the switch.
