Because if it started at zero or lower it would be a freezer and not a refrigerator.

Can you calibrate the cen-tech infrared thermometer

an Ice and water mix ( ice that is currently melting ) will read 32f or 0c.... solid ice will read below that, even as low as absolute zero. Try using a test that is at the \'change of state\' of a substance. Otherwise you\'re just blowing smoke.

How fo I change the degrees from C to F degree ?

Changing the temperature scale Your Braun ThermoScan is shipped with the Fahrenheit (°F) temperature scale activated. If you whish to switch to Celsius (°C) and/or back from Celsius to Fahrenheit, proceed as follows: (1) Make sure the thermometer is turned off. (2) Press and hold down the Start button (IRT 4020) or the «I/O» button (IRT 4520). After about 3 seconds the display will show this sequence: «°F» / «SET» / «°C» / «SET» ... (3) Release the Start button / «I/O» button when the desired temperature scale is shown. There will be a short beep to confirm the new setting, then the thermometer is turned off automatically.

Ice cube maker won't discharge ice

Make sure the freezer is at zero degrees. If you don't have an accurate thermometer; just set the freezer colder. Discharging the ice is the beginning of a cycle and the ice maker is thermally proctected so it will only run at zero degrees. Wait 24 hrs. for a harvest. Don't keep opening the freezer to check as it will only warm up. I hope this helps. Jeff

The refrigerator has been running since we plugged

I think it needs replacing. In some cases, the thermometer is actually the front of the controller of the unit. This could be why it runs constantly. I would also look at the condenser coils and make sure they are really clean.
let's start there. let me know if I can help further.

I left mine in a hot tub for well over an hour. It started reading room temp at about 125 degrees. It worked for me to put the thermometer in the freezer until the readings were correct. hope this works for you.
