Question about T-Mobile Cell Phones

Recently used Straight Talk Bring Your Own Phone Activation Kit to convert T-Mobile phone to Straight Talk. Worked for 3 weeks, then suddenly stopped working.

Went into APN Settings and saw that Tracphone APN was no longer selected so re-selected that then did a reboot but it did not solve my problem. Checked my service end date and it's not for another 8 days so that's not the problem. I'm unclear as to what VPN is and if I need to do anything there. Can someone help me please? I'm getting very frustrated.

Don't mess with the vpn' this is for vertial private network. Shut the phone down remove the sim and replace it then reboot.

    Thank you James but I've already removed SIM and battery, replaced and rebooted several times. Makes no difference. Also, when I spoke to tech support they supposedly sent updates to my phone that would fix problem. Didn't happen. Just don't know what else to try.

    Hey casey, talk to straight talk tech support on a different line, im thinking there's a bianary protection built in to your phone thats causing this or a virus protection program blocking your access. You might have to uninstall straight talk and reinstall it. Sorry about your trouble.

talk to your friend and ask if the phone was locked to a particular mobile network ?
If it is locked it would be easier to stay with that mobile network.
Once you know what network it is you can contact that network provider or find a reseller and purchase a sim card and mobile number. If you go to a dealer or reseller of the particular mobile network they might install the sim card and activate for you.
otherwise you might have to but the sim chip into the phone.
A user manual for the make and model number of the phone would instruct you how to do this although you might find a youtube video that might show you how to do this.
As it is straight talk that might be the mobile network to go for.

Can't get connected to internet without wifi access


Make sure to turn data on. Go to settings, cellular, and turn on cellular data. If you cannot do that, then you do not have data to access the internet off of the grid, per say.

yes you do not have ot give straight talk any info about yourself you do not have to buy anything other then their activation kit its 60 dollars and comes with a 45 $ card. you just need to tell them you would like to bring your moto g to straight talk you have b ought the activation kit and would like to set up a new number and when they ask for your address email and other info just say i would like to not give out any personal info. I work retail and deal with this all the time.

Actually you have to call Straight talk. They've been advertising on TV that they'll switch your phone to their service. It's the bring your own phone special they've been letting the public know about. I'm sure they can help you. Here's the number for Straight talk:1-877-430-2355

You have the have the phone unlocked to use with Straighttalk by a professional. While Straighttalk does use Verizon's network on certain phones, and AT&T on others, it is not a Verizon phone. You shouldn't have a difficult time finding someone who can unlock the phone by simply running a Google search. They can tell you if indeed the Straighttalk iPhone4 can be used with Verizon.
