SOURCE: accessing heat element

You get into the unit from the top. Use a putty knife about 2 inches in from the right and left in the seam on the front of the unit and push in on the spring clip then lift on the top. After that take the front off and work your way down. The heating elements are on the bottom right when facing the front of the unit.

Catriver was right on the mark. Took a little bit of doing but I was able to fix the problem myself within 30 mins, and saved some money. Many thanks. I'd like to expand Catriver's solution a bit.

I found a layer of lint on the inside bottom of my dryer. With the face off of the dryer, it proved to be a good time to vacuum the lint out and reduce the potential of fire.

Do NOT even try to remove the back panel. It is more complicated than it looks. You would be better off to pull the door jamb off the house... not trying to be funny just serious!

SOURCE: GGQ9800PW1 How can I remove the back panel?

Newer models have access through the front lower panel. Removing the panel will expose the t-stats and all other parts. Remember to disconnect all power to dryer before servicing. Disconnect the wires to the thermal fuse and join them together. Connect dryer and start, if it heats up then your fuse is bad. Costs about 10 bucks.

Purchase a Color Wheel & The Repair Job

My television is model Samsung HLM4365WX and the color wheel part number for that is BP96-00250A. This color wheel is used in many, many Samsung televisions, but you should confirm that your model is on the [affmask=http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-2057689-10391521?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.partstore.com%2FCompatibleModels%2FSamsung%2FSamsung%2F BP9600250A%2FNew.aspx]compatability list[/affmask]

The Repair Job
Requirements:
  • Philips screwdriver, not too small and at least 5 inches long. There’s one screw that’s a reach.
  • Tiny (jewler’s) screwdriver. You may not need this. I needed it to get a connector off.
  • Tweezers. I needed them to get to a few screws in tight places.
  • Compressed air. I didn’t have this, but I wish I did. It’s dusty in there.
  • Pen and paper. I took copious notes. If you do anything that I don’t talk about here, you should write it down. I carefully documented every cable that I unplugged and every part I removed. Thank God I did that.
  • 1-2 hours (first time I did this, it took 90 minutes. Second time 60 minutes, with photography)
  • Nerves of steel and air conditioning. Don’t drip sweat into your television.
Notes:
  • In this document, left and right are “stage-left” and “stage-right”, or the left and right sides of the set as you look at the back, facing your sofa.
  • Almost all of the screws are identical. You can safely keep them all in the same cup, or pile on the table, or carpet, or wherever you store the screws.
  • Don’t touch anything that looks like light will shine through it, like the projector lens or the colorwheel itself.
  • DON’T rely on this document entirely. Pay close attention and take notes or digital pictures.
  • If you were just watching your TV, your projector lamp will be HOT. Let it cool down.
1. Remove the back panel from the television set. The panel runs the entire width of the bottom rear of the set. There’s no need to remove the access panel for the lamp. That’ll come off with the panel. There are 14 screws.
samsung-2.jpg 2. Remove the projector lamp. This may be unnecessary, but (a) it let’s you see your target (the color wheel) and (b) it just seems like the safe thing to do. It’s easy. Just unscrew the two brass screws holding it in. It’s on the right side of the TV. The screws won’t come out, just pull them out with the whole unit by pulling on the handle and sliding it straight out. Carefully store it somewhere safe.
lamp.jpg lamp-removed.jpg 3. Remove the panel on the left side by removing two screws holding it in place. Carefully slide it and the attached PC board out a few inches until cables stop you. You won’t actually need to remove any cables from this board to get at the color wheel. (Of course I removed most of them the first time.)
left-panel.jpg left-panel-out.jpg 4. Carefully note how the power cable is positioned in the set, and the route it takes out the back. Once you have done that, pull the power cord out of it’s notch in the bottom of the case. It’s blocking the next part that has to slide out.
power-cable.jpg 5. Remove the center panel. Remove the two screws in the bottom that have larger heads than the rest. You don’t need to take off the regular sized screws that fasten the back panel to the base. They’ll all slide out together. Remove the top two screws that hold the panel to the plastic case.
center-panel.jpg
Center panel. The two screws on the bottom have larger heads than the rest. Remember that these go here. There are two more screws on the bottom that hold the vertical panel to the base. No need to remove them. If you do, things get a bit floppy.
6. Slide out the center unit slowly, just a few inches and take a peek inside as you do. It’s a snug fit, so you’ll need to ease out both the top and bottom at the same time. Some things to notice as you do this. Look at how the projector lens is fitted inside a foam sheath. You’ll need to put that back later, so take a good look.
projector-lens.jpg There are a few cables on the left side restricting it. You’ll need to unplug these:
  • blue/brown two-wire power cable. You’ll need to unplug this from the main set.
  • blue/white cable connecting to the left side. Squeeze the plug to unlatch it and remove it from the center unit that you’re removing.
  • Sensor switch on the right side. Unscrew this from the tv case bracket.
center-cables.jpg
This arrow is pointing to two of the cables. Follow the brown/blue one to the other end to unplug it. Right behind this arrow is the white connector for the white/blue cable.
sensor-switch.jpg
Here’s one of the screws that are different. Remember to use the smaller brass screw here later.
Now you can slide the center panel and all the parts behind it out of the television. If you didn’t remove any cables on the left panel, you’ll have to swing everything over to the left to clear the television.
open-tv.jpg Note: Steps 7-9 are removing the bad color wheel. I suggest doing these steps carefully, as if you were going to need to use this color wheel again. You never know if you may need to reverse what you’ve done.

further steps will be continued

I can't see how to remove the worktop of my Bosch dishwasher. I found two screws that look as if they stop it sliding forward but I still can't move it after removing them. It looks for all the...

Hi john_mchugo,

The dishwasher Worktop can be removed by first removing the 2 screws at the back of the machine. The screws are either fastened horizontally, or vertically. Once these screws are removed, the worktop slides backwards, and can be lifted up and off.

On some models there are catch tappets located on the rear right and left hand sides of the Top panel. To remove the Top panel, press up the catch tappets, push the worktop back and lift it off. If these tappets aren't pressed up, the Top won't release at all.

I hope this has helped you.

Kind Regards

Did you remove the screws from both sides? You need to open both side panels and remove the screws. It may also be that the case uses a tool free slide system. Is there a latch you can pull, or push to set it free?

When i start the Bosch WTE84107GB/02 is showing filter.

Having spent two nights trying to resolve the same issue with ours and having searched the internet for help. I would check the following,

Check lower filter and ensure its all clear.

Remove the back of the machine, the pear shaped steel cover part, held on by 10-12 torx/star bolts. Once removed you should see two sensor, one has a red reset button, press the centre and if it clicks you've reset it. Now you could be lucky and just refit the back and it will work o.k but the likelyhood from my experience is that the senors tripped out due to an overheating situation occuring. If it trips out after the reset, remove the cover again, the two sensors are mounted in what is the heater element. I removed this unit but to allow access you need to remove the lower steel duct below the heater element unit, held on my 4 torx/star bolts. Once the ducts removed you can remove the two torx/star bolts that hold the heater unit in position. Once the heater unit is removed, blow out any dust and dirt from the heater coils. With the heater unit removed you can see both the sensors from inside the heater element housing and both mine were caked in dirt so i cleaned the surfaces with a soft cloth and a drop of WD40 (not to much just enough to remove the dirt).

The next part of the machine i'd check is the air intake side. There's a grill area and the right lower side of the dryer to the right of the lower filter housing. Now you can probably remove this grill by resting the machine on it's side and releasing the clips from the underside of the machine but I took off the right hand side panel of the machine, you'll need to remove the top (two screws at the back of the machine slide back and lift off), then you need to remove the control panel, remove the water tank, and then remove the two screws on the left side, on the right side and on the right had side of the control panel, there's one screw, remove this and pully forward gently. You can then access the right side panel forward screws x 2, remove the rear screws, top screws and there one on the underside in the middle. The side panel pulls away backwards away for the front of the machine as it has three locating pegs at the front. Once the panels removed you'll no dout find the area around the motor and drive belt is covered in fluff, just hoover out. with the side panel remove you'll notice the motor unit drives two fans, one you'd have seen when you removed the rear cover and on my machine that was all clear, but the other fan is towards the front of the machine and is covered by a semi circular white plastic cover, which has 4 release clips on the outer egde and one at the rear towards the middle at the motor end and one at the front close to the middle and you won't get you hand into this, you need to release the clip form the underside of base of the machine.Once all clips are removed you can remove the cover, but it's a tight fit but it does come out. Once removed you'll see the fan unit, it's like a hamster wheel and on my machine this was fully choked up with fluff in the middle and in between the fan blades and this is what was stopping air circulation and hence why the machine overheated and cut out. You can hoover out the fan and in the intake system and refit in reverse order, making sure you get the screws back in the right order.

Whilst you have the machine half apart, Once you've refitted the right hand side panel and before you refit the front control panel i'd remove the left hand panel, hoover out. At the bottom left side you'll see the pump unit. There's two pipes going to it, remove the cover retaining screws and remove the cover. Remove both pipes and the two electrical sensors (ones pump and ones the float level senor) Once removed, clean the float sensor and pump you can remove the end cover off the pump and you can also remove the float from the cylinder housing ), remove the filter unit/heat exchanger and clean any sludge etc from inside the pump sump area. Refit

We found that on completion of this the machine was a lot more efficient and made less noise and it's nearly 11 years old so it owes us nothing !!

Hello. I have a GE Potscrubber 600 dishwasher. The soap dispenser will not close. This seems to be a common problem. Any help would be great, thank you.

Main detergent cup won't close on GE Potscrubber 700 GSD700.A workaround is to add the additional detergent with rinse aid 18 minutes intothe wash cycle. To repair, switch off power through circuit breaker. Set timerknob to 12 o'clock. If the detergent cup lever spring opens the cup after it isclosed, remove screws on panel that holds detergent cup and remove the panel upand out of door. Remove timer cover by moving it right and pulling up to exposetimer, see photo 1. _1909.jpg If a spring is loose, it can be reattached as follows.Remove two screws that hold timer, then remove timer. Do not remove timer knobfrom front of GSD700 because knob is designed for removal from rear of panel, after the timer is out. If spring attachment point broke off, reinforce it withepoxy (JBKwik), see gray cone upper right of center in photo 2. _1910.jpg After epoxy cures, drill and tap a hole for a metric 3 - 0.5mm-8mm screw (4-40 may also work). Install spring between new screw anddispenser linkage and tighten screw, see photo 3. _1911.jpg Install timer, jiggle knob so it engages timer and securetimer with two screws. Pull dispenser lever down to make sure it moves andsprings back. Replace round switch and cover. Install white cover with leverextended through it. Install cover screws, close soap door, and rotate timer, soap door should open after about 90 degrees of rotation followed by rinse aidactuation.

All you need to do is remove the two long screws on the back of the tv panel just above the stand, then the two short back panel screws AND the three short screws just above the two panel screws and the stand will come right off. DO NOT remove any of the other screws in the perimeter of the back panel. There is no need.
After much trial and error this is the correct and EASY procedure for this apparently troublesome task. Good Luck !!
