Question about Sony MegaStorage CDP-CX455 400-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

Thank you Steve.. I think it was caused by a couple CDs out of their slots jamming carousel movement. Does this cause crazy behavior with the unit as well?

It doesn't want to power off, have to unplug

Kodak 140 slide carousel trays jam

The 140 tray with older slides and an older projector is a gamble with slide jams every time!! Slides have a natural curve that gets bigger over time. In addition, as slides age, the corners will begin to de-laminate (aka: "dog-eared" slide). Because the slide slot in a 140-tray is SO NARROW, the least little deformation of the slide from normal will cause the slides not to drop. My recommendation, given the age of the projector, trays and slides, is to get rid of those 140 trays and stick with 80-slide trays. Good Luck !! Jim

How to remove a Croussel from Ektagraphic AF1

First of all, make sure the LOCKING RING is in position on the tray & locked! This will prevent all the slides from falling out when you remove the tray. Next, place a quarter (or a dime or a penny) in the SLOT in the HUB of the projector. Turn the coin to release the Emergency Latch Release and lift the tray off. Flip the tray upside down. Remove the jammed slide from the optical gate of the projector (inspect it for damage - "dog-eared" slide corners cause this kind of jam) and re-insert it in the slot of the tray from the underside (now facing you). Now rotate the tray until the pointing arrow and the notch on the bottom of the tray align. At this point the tray should be back in the "Zero" position and can be re-installed on the projector. I have attached copies of Kodak instructions for this, as well. Good Luck !! Jim4d786888-c152-4bd3-b086-29e6f8e29e37.jpg409ae3e8-80fd-44c8-820b-23fd94def009.jpg

Tub shakes crazy when spinning. Whole machine vibrates

A couple of things may be going on. One is that the load may be quite heavy and is sitting to one side of the tub so to speak, causing the unit to be out of balance. The other is that the leveler feet may be out of adjustment which would require re-leveling. Your "shaking like crazy" description makes me think the leveling issue is the likely problem. Aside from the bad behavior, either cause can be hard on bearings.........and sanity. Good luck.

Our dell powervault 122t shows error code A0

Error Code A0 - Error occurred during carousel movement (Position Not Found). Could be caused by a missing or misaligned cartridge carrier, or an obstruction, or unexpected cartridge in either the carousel path or Import/Export slot.
--------------

Remove the power cable and SCSI cables then try open the top cover. Check and see if there are any tape blocking or obstructing the movement. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. I have 5 of these devices, few of them were replaced as its not working anymore due to these codes and as they are pretty obsolete, its not worth to repair them anymore.

IBM Autoloader 36232sx error code A027 & A060

A0= Error occurred during carousel movement (position not found). Could be caused by a carousel motor power issue, a missing or misaligned cartridge carrier, an obstruction, or an unexpected cartridge in the carousel path.

I also advise you to update the FW of the loader.

Are you having tapes get "Stuck" in the unit?

I have a Wurlitzer 1015 OMT 50-Disc model. Is it possible to upgrade it to handle 100 discs? Thank you. Steve W.

It is possible.
If it is a 100 cd carousel then it is a simple computer setting.

If it is a 50 cd carousel you need a credit computer able to recognise 100 selections, a 100 slot carousel and a latch bracket for a 100 cd carousel.
I have never done it but it is definitely possible.

JBL 6 CD AM/FM Cassette Audio has CDs stuck inside and won't play or eject them. How can I get them out?

I've had this happen before with car stereo's uh i just normally unscrew the screws out of the top of the player to where you can get to the tray or slot for the cds and force the cd tray or the cd itself out but be careful and not break the cd this might work it usually does for me

CD player does not rotate

Hi there.

There could be a couple of reasons. I doubt very much that it is due to the lens. First thought is that it is probably the locking mechanism. If you look at the cd loading mechanism, there is a small plate with a locking tab that moves into place to hold the carousel still when the unit is loading a cd. This plate slides along the bottom of the unit between the cd loader and the carousel.

Secondly, it could be that the carousel is jammed on the rotating platter that it moves on. A couple of screws and it should come out - be carefull not to bend anything!

Thirdly, check the stepper motor that turns it - but I doubt this is the problem either as you said you couldn't turn it by hand either. You will need to remove the carousel to do this.

Good Luck !

Wurlitzer 1015 OMT 100CD

I asked a Wurlitzer engineer about this problem and he simply said, "Bend it a bit."

Sounds horrible but there is no genuine adjustment. But before doing that, try moving the carousel lock latch (at the 5 oclock position). This is what locks the carousel and determines its position when the correct CD number is reached. If you could ****** or advance it a little it might work.
