What is secondary air injection system failure

There is an electrically powered A.I.R. pump under the car in front of the left wheel that supplies air to the engine exhaust system for a few seconds when the car is first started. This additional air is necessary to ensure the emission controls initiate and work correctly on a cold engine. Failure usually occurs because of an electrical problem (blown fuse, faulty motor) but can also be caused by failure of the diverter valve in the hose connected to it, or a problem with the air inlet/exhaust hoses.

No power at all

Possible that the main controller has failed if there is power till within the power supply unit of the controller.
You need to probe into the power supply unit to confirm for a fuse failure, a link failure on the Low tension circuit, a failure to provide power to the controller.

The screen has blacked out, it still has sound but no picture. It also started smoking from the back.

Turn off and unplug from electrical outlet. Indicative partial power supply failure , possible video component failure ( ie. capacitor/resistor/diode/SCR/ect ). Quick reaction may avoid further more costly damage.

Sincerely,

Doc Michael

After an electrical storm my Acer m1640 has no power although the mains power lead is intact. Are there any internal fuses that could have blown

Hi,
Sorry, no fuses. Lightning is a major cause of computer failure. Failure could be a power supply, motherboard, processor or the whole system.

Next time get your computer a good surge protector. They are cheap and protect your computer from electrical mishaps.

Time Drifting in RTC PCF8563

Witth proper design the backup power from battery should not cause the time problem.

As an electrical engineer, my GUESS is that there is either a startup problem involving programming or some overflow condition in the firmware.

I would program a special test program in the PIC to trap the failure and use a logic analyzer to display the history of the failure.

Printer will not turn on

Possible cause may be the power supply fuse. When power failures happen usually the fuse is the first to go.

Amana wall oven

Hi~ According to the manual for this oven, the F2 code signifies - high oven temperature. The only suggestion for any of the codes in the manual is to disconnect the electrical supply. It says" pressing OVEN CANCEL pad or disconnecting electrical supply may eliminate "F code". If failure continues, contact an authorized servicer.
I hope this helps. Linda
