Question about Whirlpool LSB6200PQ Top Load Washer
Washer went into spin mode and heard a "pop" now it dosent spin while wash/spin modes and i hear a slight noise (gear stripped maybe in trans.)or is there anything else in there before i get inside? pump works fine.
You probably have a broken coupler between the motor and transmission.
Remove the two screws that hold the console to the cabinet and flip the console back.
Remove the two clips that hold the cabinet to the rear panel of the washer and unplug the lid switch harness. The cabinet will tilt forward and slide off.
Remove the clips holding the water pump and move it to the side.
Unplug the wires from the motor and remove the clips holding it.
You will see the motor coupler.
Make sure you can turn the gearcase shaft with a pair of pliers so it is not locked up.
If the coupler fails again in a few months, you most likely have a problem in the gearcase and it will need to be replaced.
If these instructions don't apply to your washer, post back with the complete model number from the machine and I will give you proper directions.
Post back to let me know what you find or if you have questions.
