I do not know what you mean by keeps on running. but if it goes up on remote but will not go down on remote, it may be because the sensors are either not aligned or that a sensor wire is broken/disconnected. try pushing and holding the manual wired opener and see if the door closes. if it does, then that is the override for a sensor issue. good luck
