Reverse the water supply hoses either on the wall or on the machine. be sure to turn off water valves first. or just wash hots in cold etc. :-)

Need to know what HC means on my washing machine Kenmore Elite Oasis. wash did come thru from the bottom

hi there

HC means that the water hoses have been changed or the hot is in the cold and vice versa. put the hot water to the hot on the machine and the cold to cold and this will stop the HC code.

and on another site

The "HC" indicates that the Hot and Cold water supply lines are reversed. Shut the cold and hot water supply valves off and then remove and reverse the hot and cold water fill hoses on the washer and then see if it continues to display "HC".

what HC means on my washing machine Google Search

I set the water temp setting to cold, but it keeps filling with hot water. No matter where I set the dial, it fills with hot water.

check whether the hoses are mismarked when they come out of the wall.
the same thing kept happening to us (whirlpool cabrio) and i checked the temperature on the hoses coming out of the wall - cold was mislabeled as hot by the builder, and vice versa.

My maytag washer has a water temp. problem I,ve replacrd the water temp switch (pt.# 37001263) 4 pole switch several times but the problem still returns I,m getting hot water insted of a cold water...

You say that you are getting hot water instead of cold on rinse... Does that mean that when you select hot water wash you get cold?
If so, the machine 'thinks' it is giving water that is the wrong temp.
You may be sure that the hoses are the right way round, but if the water temp is opposite to what it should be, there's obviously something amiss!
Try swapping the hoses and see what happens...If the hoses are 'right', it could be that the water inlet valves are 'wrong'. It could be that the 'cold' wires are on the 'hot' inlet valves!! & vice versa
Good luck....Nomess

Took water intake valve assembly out to replace - confirming white wire connectors go on the cold and the black on the hot ?

Try it the way you said if it that doesn't work reverse connections. No damage can be done. You'll get cold water if asking for hot and vice versa.

Bosh error code E02

Hi. I had the same problem with my Bosch washing machine and called Bosch...was told the same thing...$99.00 for service call. I managed to fix my problem by doing the following:
  • Removed hot & cold water supply hoses.
  • Took filter screens out of both hoses.
  • Removed filter from cold inlet on back of washing machine. I noticed some oily buildup on both of the cold screens so opted to not put any of them back in.
  • Then I put hot & cold water supplies back on the wall hookup, but crossed the lines where they came into the back of the machine intentionally so that the hot water line fed into the cold side of the washing machine and vice versa.
  • Then I ran a couple loads on "cold" which was actually hot water coming in to the machine.
The reason I did this was that I figured there must be some more waxy buildup inside the machine in the cold lines and hoped the hot water would melt it like when you rinse a greasy pan under hot water. IT WORKED!!! I hope this helps you.
