Question about Comtrend Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I can't log into my DSL router. It's a Comtrend Nexuslink 5631. I've tried all the default logins.

I have a DSL router from Consolidated Communications. I'm trying to log into it to change the encryption on my wireless network. I'm on my laptop connected via a LAN cable. I've tried going to 192.168.1.1 and log in with these usernames and passwords to no avail: admin/admin (blank)/admin admin/(blank) user/user support/support root/12345 admin/cciadmin cciadmin/admin admin/password Nothing seems to work. I'm wondering if I can reset the router without losing my ISP settings. Suggestions?

    Hello, the IP address for your router is probably not 192.168.1.1. There is a list of all the possible different IP, as well as the usernames and passwords that each brand set as default. More info here:https://19216811.click

    The default gateway is showing 192.168.1.1. I tried 192.168.2.1 and it doesn't take me anywhere.

    192.168.1.1 shows up as "DSL Router" It just won't accept the passwords I put in.

    where did the router come from?

    It came from my ISP: Consolidated Communications. The odd thing is I've logged into it before with a default login (admin/admin) but it doesn't accept that anymore. I didn't change anything.

    If the ISP supplied it, there is a chance they changed the password online....I found this site but not sure if it will help you.http://setuprouter.com/router/comtrend/n...

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to find security key for comtrend Nexuslink 3100u

Check on the router itself. Some ISPs have a pre-determined WPA password encoded into the router when delivered to the customer. It may be on a label affixed to the unit. Otherwise, you may have to log into the router itself (if your ISP allows this) and change the password to something you can then use for all your devices.

Username, password of my model DSL-G604T/TH V.A3

The default login to the router is ADMIN and the password is blank. If yo are looking for the wireless SSID and password, that should be listed (after logging ton the router) under the wireless section.

I forgot my password and cant think of it how can i get a new one or reset it with out losing every thing on my computer i need the password so i can get the internet on my wii

the comtrend router password has nothing to do with the PC you can reset the router and then use the default username and password - ASSUMING you already tried the username and password and it did not let you log into the router setup screen
theres a few routers starting CT507 (1 , 1E etc ) see the download page here for a user manual http://www.comtrend.com/support.htm

there's quite serious security problem with this routers (not sure if it applies to exactly this type)

if your password if not the default you should try other account:
(username / password)
admin / admin
support / support
user / user

if you are logged in as a "user" you can't change anything but you can access change password page e.g.

http://192.168.1.1/password.html

then open source code of this page and inside javascript code you will find your password in plain text
<!-- hide
pwdAdmin = 'admin';
pwdSupport = 'support';
pwdUser = 'user';

Router login

Hi,

If your Comtrend CT-5621 came with the package from your ISP then it is possible that the username and password has been changed by your provider and you would have to get in touch with them.

In some instances the username is "root" and the password is "root".
Some known passwords from ISPs are:
Canadian Broadband/Aliant - RM60008
NetComm - NetC0mmV3oo

Some ISPs disabled/blocked the web based configuration interface and the initial way to communicate with it is a telnet session to the router.

Would you know if your default IP address of 10.0.0.1?

Good luck and kind regards.

Ok I am goin to make some assumptions here, you have dial up service right? first you need to get DSL which allows you to use your Internet and phone at the same time on the same line. The other choice is to get cable modem service which frees up your telephone line because your internet service will be coming over your cable connection. Once you have DSL or cable modem you will need to connect and configure your router. plug the ethernet cable from your Cable modem or DSL Modem into your Router's WAN port the plug your PC into the Router's LAN port. Your PC should pull an IP address using the DHCP protocol. You can check this by opening up a cmd prompt window in Windows and typing in the command ipconfig and pressing the enter key. Once you have your ipaddress (which should be 192.168.1.xxx xxx = some number between 2 and 254) try to ping the gateway address by typing in ping 192.168.1.1 and hitting the enter key. you should get 4 ping return indications. Once this happens log into your router via the default gateway IP address (192.168.1.1) from your web browser by using the default login and password (these default settings should be in your documentation but the log in is admin or leave the box blank, and the password is admin) once you are logged in set your WANconnectivity for DHCP (cable modem) or PPPOE (DSL). then for DSL put in your login and password given to your by your DSL provided, for cable modem just select the save button (for both) and the the router should pull a WAN side IP address. check this by looking at your router's WAN settings. once you have don this you should be able to connect to the Internet.
