00 celica gts timing chain problems

The timing chain should not routinely need changing, but perhaps the tensioner does.
Try first to eliminate any other causes, like the bearings in the fan, drive belt idlers, or alternator. A useful tool is a long screwdriver which you can apply to the various areas while placing your ear to the top of it while the motor idles.
Be very careful to keep clear of moving parts like fan blades.

My 2000 Olds Silhouette power door windows will not go up or down when the doors are closed, but they will work when the door or doors are open or ajar.

closing the door is putting pressure on the door glides,, check to see if the door jam is pushing on a misaligned door window frame,, if it is,, you need to realign the doors upper part that houses the window,, this is often caused by someone simply leaning or hanging on the window frame while talking to someone,,

The Glidermatic GTS 2000 has limits that are stored electronically.

The problem you have is the closing limit is set too low and needs to be adjusted so the door is just resting on the concrete - currently it is trying to drive through the concrete, the motor detects and obstruction and reverses.

If your Glidermatic GTS 2000 was supplied & fitted prior to April 2010 you can download the 'Limit Setting' procedure on the Gliderol website. If the unit was installed after April 2010 it MAY have a revised PCB known as the NGTSv2 PCB. Contact your local branch for limit setting procedures as they are not yet available to download online.

The combination of a mechanical door and electric motor means periodical adjustment is required to esnsure the travel limits and - most importantly - the sensitivity is set correctly. A service to your DOOR is strongly recommended every 12 months.

I hope this helps

Door will not slide automatically; emits loud beeping noise

Something similar to that was happening with our Odyssey...the beeping when you are driving whether it's ongoing or intermittent is the "safety alarm" letting you know the door is not closed. The power lock is not engaging. What I do when I get the beeping while driving is hit the Door Close button. It causes the door to attempt to engage again. To fix it...we first cleaned out the space below the side running board (kids were hiding crayons and things in there), then looked for any obstructions along the top and bottom tracks. I sprayed a lubricant along the tracks (I'd suggest the dry lube kind...I used WD40 the 1st time and had streaks of it dripping down after driving), use a lube that has a long straw to spray in small places...and spray up into the track that runs the length of the middle of the car. Manually open and shut it a few times to get the tracks lubed, then try it out.
If you press the open OR close button by remote or in the car and get nothing...no movement/no noises/no beeping...then it could be the electrical circuit itself, the signal itself may be impeded...or the motor shot. Have you tried any of these suggestions before?

I have a craftsman garage door opener and the chain came off the track. I've put the chain back on the track wheel but i had to loosen the chain to do so. now, when the door closes the bar bows up and the...

The reason your door is opening again is because there is a limit switch that is not making contact at the appropriate time to tell the drive to stop closing the door. The chain drive motor is controlled by a circuit that is expecting to see a signal telling it that the door is closed. If it doesn't see this signal to stop at the appropriate time, it continues to drive the door down unless it sees a certain amount of back pressure, which then tells it to return the door to the up/open position. This is a built in safety feature for most garage door drives and is industry standard now due to children getting caught under them and being killed. You can try this yourself. Stick a 4 foot 2x4 vertically under the middle bottom of the door as it's coming down, after a second or two the door will reverse direction.

With the chain falling off the drive and loosening it to replace it, you may have inadvertantly positioned the actuator of the switch, which is usually attached to the chain, out of position by a couple of links. There is a momentary contact switch mounted close to the door on the support shaft of the drive mechanism. This support shaft is the one holding the motor drive on one end, along with the chain and is anchored to the header over the garage door. This momentary switch may have a short metalic or plastic arm hanging down that is moved by the actuator on the chain and needs to be reset to a position where the switch contact will be closed when the door is in it's closed position. There are other options also depending on how new/old your door drive is. Some of the newer models use a through beam sensor or photo eye as a stop switch.

Please let me know if this helps.
