Question about Pool & Spa

1 Answer

I had a 400000 btu teledyne pool heater for 19 years and finally gave out. They don't manufacture that heater anymore. Any ideas for something that was going to last just as long as a teleydine.

You may be able to have that same one repaired... If it went for that long it may be worth having it fixed! Even a bad burner or heat exchanger is fixable (if not replaceable)

SOURCE: I have Teledyne Lars Lyte

The laars lite 2 has an identification sticker on the inside left of the heaters access panel, either on the backsplash of the heater, or on the backside of the door. This will mention model information as well as BTU ratings. If this identification plate is worn, or burnt, just take a picture of it and send it to adamh@newconceptchem.com and I will let you know the BTU rating of the heater. I work on these all the time and will be able to tell.

My larrs pool heater will ignite, but not stay lit

If your Laars will not stay lit then the pilot generator is faulty. That is the small brass and copper piped connection near the pilot flame. It must produce 250minivolts in order to open the main gas valve and keep the gas running into the pilot burner..

Old pool/spa heater

Most parts are not avalible. $3600 is a good investment on a house you are selling. If the pool/spa is in good shape the heater would be a plus and a tax break. We bought our house because of all new appliances.
