You may be able to have that same one repaired... If it went for that long it may be worth having it fixed! Even a bad burner or heat exchanger is fixable (if not replaceable)

The laars lite 2 has an identification sticker on the inside left of the heaters access panel, either on the backsplash of the heater, or on the backside of the door. This will mention model information as well as BTU ratings. If this identification plate is worn, or burnt, just take a picture of it and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will let you know the BTU rating of the heater. I work on these all the time and will be able to tell.
