What does "amp error" mean?

If your sub is connected to a separate amplifier, the internal amplifiers of the receiver would be at fault.

No bass from Bose AM 15 Sub

Sub will only work in surround mode, not stereo mode. Also source must have sub component (5.1, 7.1, 9.1 etc) If your system was transmitting sub signal before, be sure you have chosen a mode which includes a sub signal.

Using satelite speakers on arcam avr100

Depending on the type of satelite speakers, Bose for example used on their own would be damaged, if your satelite plugs into a sub speaker they are protected by circuitry that controls output level when tied into the whole system, so using them on their own is not a good idea.

I am attempting to reconnect my home stereo but do not see a cord or wire to connect the bass to the system. is there supposed to be a connective cord for the bass speaker? it is a 530 watt MHCGX99 model...

Hi from one Lakers fan to another 8^) - Yes you do. You need a cable to plug into the
sub-woofer out port on the receiver to the connection on your sub-woofer.

If you can't find the original cable, get a short (three ft.) standard stereo cable (one that has two cables, a white and red). Just plug one of the cables (the red or the white but it has to be the same color on both connections) into the receiver and the sub-woofer.

You'll be ready to pump up the bass.

Enjoy and thank you for using Fix Ya

Acoustic Research AR-1 Qusetion- LFE Input and Output functions??

using the LFE input will give you cleaner less distorted bass. You must have a sub out on your receiver or pre-amp. it will give you greater control over the bass output of your system. If you only have one sub-out on your receiver simpley run a 10ft rca from the sub-out of reciever to the rca input of either speaker than use the rca out of 1st speaker to the rca input of second speaker. check to see if you have control of the level of your sub-out on your reciever. adjust the 30hz boost on rear of speakers. now you will have bass that most people only dream of having.

I have hooked this up to a working reciever that

Fill in the blanks about the working receiver.

You mention another subwoofer, which suggests your receiver manages the bass and possibly sends most or all of it to the sub.

If it's NOT sending the bass to the speaker terminals you use to drive the AM5 that would explain it's virtually silent bass module.

If those speaker terminals on your receiver can be set to LARGE, do it. Otherwise they assume the speakers are incapable of handling bass.

Need to hook up bass system to 1999 ford explorer can anyone assist me

Probably need an installer - depends on yr/make/model of car - stereo and wiring diagram for sub system. There are lots of questions need answering and if not installed properly, you can certainly damage the stereo, sub system. Subs use a lot of power and improper wiring could cause problems, even fires !

Having Trouble Assessing Bass and Treble Controls

Bass and treble can be adjusted via the sound menu only when the z-enhancer is set to off.

To change them while the Z-enhancer is on (B-Boost, Excite, Impact) choose the enhancer mode, then press the play/ent button. You can then use the up/down arrows to adjust bass and treble to -3 to +3
