Why Craftsman riding mower wont turn over & only makes click sound when turn key on??

1.try jumping the battery with your car battery. I have had same issue in the past with a brand new battery.
2. Try spraying starter fluid into the carb while cranking. If it starts or at least tries to start (assuming cranking is fixed), you have a fuel problem. Again, when I first tried to fire my Used mower, had to use starter fluid to get it to start the first time, but never since.

How to start challenge xtreme petrol lawnmower

This mower in nigh on impossible to start, having had a Briggs and Stratton previously the xtreme isn't fit for purpose. I bought brand new one 2 weeks ago and the only way it would start ( after 20 attempts, no exaggeration ) was to swap the spark plug with my old B&S. It's very prone to flooding, as it fails to start everytime y pull the cord with the throttle open it's pumping more fuel in. I'm taking it back tomorrow, managed to cut the grass twice and now refuses to start at all, Advise yu to avoid at all costs.

MTD Briggs and Straton 22" Mower Wont Start Brand

You probably have dirt in the carburetor. Or, you may have water in the fuel. As long as you have spark, then there is nothing else that it could be. Unless you have taken it apart already; have you done this?

I have a Cub cadet LT 1024 which will not start. The solenoid clicks like it is trying and lights will come on but that is only reaction. Battery is brand new and hooked up properly.

solenoid clicks, only tess you the coil is working inside the solenoid. disconnect cable from battery to starter. with ohm meter check for continuty across main terminals of solenoid while holding key to start. if no continuity, solenoid is defective.

1997Infinity QX4. Car runs fine for a month, Then will not start.

Starter is ok, it is the starting solenoid, the mechanism is holding the armature back and when starting attempt the solenoid because it is stuck or sticking will not close the large contacts. To prove this next time it does not start take a small hammer and hit the starter, the vibration will free the solenoid. All else fails there are 2 relays interlocking the solenoid by the inhibitor and the alarm system.

I have a 1978 pontiac lemans with a 350 small block.I went to start the car and nothing no power at all checked battery termanals -- ect ect still nothing and battery id brand new help please

starter or solenoid, or the ignition switch. Try jumperin the posts on the solenoid if it starts then its the solenoid or the ignition switch. About 90 percent of the time its the solenoid and comes with a new or rebuilt starter.
