Question about OKI Office Equipment & Supplies
I have just bought a second hand Oki C810 and am testing which media it will work with. I tried a transparency and it came out with ********* blobs of toner smeared across it. Does this mean I cannot use this media, or is there something wrong with the printer? I also seem to be getting faint smudges across glossy paper as well. I've checked inside the printer and there is powder in various places that I am guessing may need cleaning? However, this is coloured rather than black so I suspect is not causing the problem described above. Any suggestions?

You are printing on the rough side correct? Try switching the side of the paper that you are printing on and see if that helps at all. You should check your options and see if there may be an economical option or quick option and see if this helps put less ink on the paper. Please let me know how this works out for you.
Good luck

For starters remember this is not meant to be a PHOTO Printer, I am guessing the Spearing is because Glossy paper does not hold the toner like Regular paper or at least until it is fused. I am a technitiian and i also own this printer.

Hi Errol
The way to identifiy your problem is to send a full colour print to your printer and open the top just as the paper starts to come out . if you then remove your toner / drums for all the colours you can see the transfer belt if the quality of the image that you can see on the transfer belt is good and clear your problem is with the transfer form the tranferbelt to the paper and not any toner /drum issue and the most likley cause is the transfer belt itself "but before you relpace it remove it and clean around the electrical contact points and generally make sure the internals of the printer is free of loose toner .
