Order the replacement boiler, (be sure to empty all of the hot water from the boiler first using the hot water function on the right side of your Solis) take your time and open the machine up, the top comes off. There are 3 mounting screws that hold the boiler in place, remove them, be sure to take hold of the boiler before removing the last mounting screw. Remove and replace the wires and 2 water hoses (w/clips). The orange wires the connect to a unique plastic harness are clipped into the harness. Look closely and you'll see a little window in the plastic harness at the end of each orange wire. Use a tooth pick or a pointed device and push the metal clips thru these windows, this unlocks the wires for removal from the boiler.
Good luck and Best wishes

SOURCE: water does not heat up
I found another entry online that mentioned that the Breville esp8xl has a connector to the heat chamber that corrodes and can become loose. Sure enough, my Breville esp8xl was fixed by opening it up--from the bottom, 8 screws on bottom, then two screws into the top from near the front, two at the back, and one under the lid, finding the blue wire with the loose connection, tightening the connection, and voila! my machine works like new.
