Heres how to test it'
To check ur compressor with multi meter:
Disconnect and remove the relay and capacitor from compressor , somes located next to compressor in a casing.

You wills see 3 prongs coming out of compressor. 1 goes to ur srtart winding, 1 goes to ur run winding and the center goes to ur ground.

Place ur meter connector or prong on the start prong and the other on the ground (center prong) take note of the reading in OHMS for example 5 ohms.
Next place meter prong on run prong and the center ground prong agin. Take note of the reading in OHMS. Example 4 ohms

Next place meter prong on the start prong and the other on the run prong, now take note of the reading example 9 ohms. Now match the total of this ohms test with the total of ur two separate test. 9 ohms, if they match ur ok give or take 5 percent plus or minus. One more test to make to test of there is a short in compressor attach meter prong to ground prong and rub the other end of meter prong to metal ( scrape the metal clean of paint and test on metal surface not painted surface. If it shows continuity or ohms , u have a short in ur compressor. It should show infinity

You may have a problem in the evaporator fan . Defrost fridge for 24 hours and start up. Problem should go away for some time. For a long term solution you need to check if defrost cycle is funtioning well if not suspect the timer or the heater.

Will engine valve make 'marbels in a can noise'in

Interesting. There are several things which can make that sound. Oddly enough, some Automakers use pellets in the Catalytic converter and when they lose the partitions inside the converter they tend to rattle like that. Another related area is the shields on the Catalytic converters. Sometimes the welds break and the shields flap against the pipes. Third, if you travel gravel roads the stones kick up get inside the shields and rattle.

Moving forward you have the A/C clutch bearings which can make that sound before they altogether cut loose.

Transmission Torque converters on automatics make that sound very close to failing. As long as the engine is running it does not have to be i gear.

But an individual valve in an engine will not make that sound. A broken sparkplug tip could make a noise but you would have a missfire.

There are roller bearing pulleys on the pulley system for the Serpetine belt. Any of these devices could make noise. Besides the A/C compressor, your Alternator and even your Power steering pump can
make noise.

Please rate my info.

My 2001 pontiac sunfire 2.2L is making a clicking sound when it runs. what is making that sound? Is it the valves being worn or is it the valve springs being worn...

are you sure it is a clicking noise the 2.2 engine is bad for the ac compressor clutch going bad and making a metal to metal rubbing noise. the way to check this is while the car is running turn on the air conditioner and see if the noise stops if so all it needs if the ac compressor changed or bypassed till the spring. hope this helps.

Not cooling clicking sound refrig compresso and

IT'S MOST LIKELY THE START RELAY/OVERLOAD PROTECTOR ON THE SIDE OF THE COMPRESSOR. UNPLUG UNIT AND PULL START RELAY OFF AND SHAKE. IF SOUNDS LIKE IT'S FULL OF GRAVEL IT'S BAD, OR GET VOLT /OHM METER AND CHECK CONTINUITY BETWEEN THE START AND RUN TERMINALS ON BACK SIDE OF RELAY, WHILE YOUR THERE CHECK CONTINUITY BETWEEN THE BACK SIDE OF OVERLOAD AND WHERE L1 WIRE COMES IN FROM THE HARNESS. IF ALL THAT CHECKS OUT THE COMPRESSOR MIGHT BE BAD OR DRAWING TOO MUCH CURRNET FOR THE FACTORY START DEVICE. YOU DIDN'T NOTE A SERIAL #, SOME OF THOSE MODELS WERE UNDER RECALL FOR THE RELAY/OVERLOAD PROBLEM.

When running load noise coming from black cylinder

That part you identified is the compressor of the dehumidifier. Compressor is probably bad or going bad. When compressor go bad the valves start making noise and they lose alot of there efficiency.

Model kbr20etss01 very noisy when compressor is running

If the noise seems to be coming from the compressor That's usually mounts inside the compressor. It could still last awhile so if you can put up with the noise just wait for it to quit before replacing the compressor or getting a new fridge.
Also you have two fans which run when the compressor runs. One is next to the compressor and the other is behind the rear cover inside the freezer. One of them can be hitting something or the fan motor itself could be making the noise which would be a bad motor.

Buzzing noise -Kyoto KU 9577 Freezer

you may have a bad compressor or a bad compressor relay. The buzzing noise sounds like the compressor trying to start but can't. Unplug the unit and pull the relay off the compressor. If it rattles like gravel in side it replace the relay. If it doesn't then you may need to call a repairman to check the compressor. Hope this helps.

Amana refrigerator stopped cooling.

Have you been hearing a clicking noise coming from behind the unit? This is the first indication of a failed compressor relay. Pull the unit out and unplug it. Remove the back cover and go to the compressor. You will find a device on the side of the compressor that has the wires hooked to it. This is the compressor relay and overload. It may be under a black cap. Remove the cap to access it. It may have 2 pieces to it or it may just have the 2 pieces encased in a white and tan box. Remove this box and shake it. If it rattles like gravel in it then it is bad. If it is in 2 pieces then it will have a brown relay. This is the piece that will rattle if bad. The white and black piece with one wire is the overload. They most never go bad. Use this replacement part kit...8201786 and follow the detailed instructions included in the kit. Thanks for the question. Hope this helps.
