Getting light print on b&w, changing density makes zero change. Toner changed, no effect.

Check whether you are running as Black and White or Gray Scale. Many printers only print straight black by using all four toner cartridges- Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, black. If are running colored print in black and white and u choose grey scale it will automatically give you a screened image as a light print.

Hi Paul

Please answer me a few questions and Ill look into your issue when I get some time later today

Are you using Sharp original toner or after market?

Is the light the "billard ball" one and is it on solid or blinking

Is the drum light on also?

What is the page count on this machine

"clear, density select, clear, density select, dilpay blinks 00 then use arrows for up, zoom for down, to put in 22, press copy then arrow in 05, press copy.. result will be 3x 2 digits repeaed, clear to exit to start of service mode

what is the drum count?, same as above but 12 instead of 05 for second lot of entry

TRy doing clear density, clear density, then 10 copy, can you hear toner motor turning for 30secs?

Dont play in service mode you can damage machine if wrong stuff is put in;)

(clear then clear again to exit all the way out of service mode)

Please post back results/answers

Cheers

Why did you do ccd-adj before cleaning the optics?

in copiers front door must be sheet with numbers that are factory input, do the clear all, and then set the values from paper in service mode.

After you hit clear, density select, clear, density select, the lights showing number of copies selected should go out, they they go out, you are in the Simulation (Service) Mode. Then select 14 and hit the Start Key. You may have to re-enter the Sim. Mode then enter 15 etc.

This is a fuser error.
First you must enter the simulation mode as follows:

press the keys clear, density select, clear, density select
then press the copy key
use the arrow up and down buttons to select the number 14 in the display
