I can't get my mp3 player to work

I took it to the library to get instruction on how to use it,they told me it needed to be charged and I did this. My computer says I have 3books on my mp3, but I can't hear anything with my earphones.

Try another set of earphones. or try yours in another device to verify they are working properly. Or clean the plug, plug in and out multiple times to try to "clean" internal contacts. Hope this helps.

How do i start up my MP3 player? i just got it and took it out of the box....now what? how do i get music onto it?

First you need to charge up your player by connecting it to the USB port on the computer.
MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files off the Internet and copy them to your player. Some music sites are free and others charge for these mp3 files.
You can convert your CDs to mp3 music files, for instructions on converting music files to mp3 format, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

If you already try both reset, then try doing a firmware update.

On computer try unplugging computer power cable, and if it is a laptop also remove battery, this sort out problems related with electrostatic charges on computer USB ports.

After syncing comp and ipod touch i told it to transfer music and it took all music off the ipod

Itunes doesn't allow to trunsfer music from ipod to another computer. Thats why it erases all song that is not available on its library.

Will not hold the music I download

My problem was that I was deleting the existing library list in my computer when I attempted to add more songs to the MP3 player. I thought since I had already downloaded them to the MP3 player, that I could get rid of them from my PC's Media Player's library. The new songs I tried to add, would override the old songs stored in the MP3 player. Apparently you have to continue to store all the songs in your PC's library, and then when you add more songs you can transfer only the new ones to your MP3 player. A guy at my work told me this.

I am having the exact same problem. I put songs on the MP3 player and it hasn't worked since. I'm not getting any help or support. If you find out what the problem is, please contact me. This is is so disappointing to buy a Xmas present that doesn't work!

if it keeps on rebuilding the library the disk had a bad spot on it try going in to recover mode and do a clean if that doesn't work do a format if that doesn't work download the latest firmware if that doesn't fix you will need a new hard drive or flash drive.
