Do as the message says - clean up the dust (plug and socket - both ends. if that does not work, change to a new USB cable that is heavier (approved for printers)
some cables are made and used on devices that should not be, this is an oversight by the mfg people. For example: Toshiba laptop owners ad their power cords replaced because some had overheated. When we found out about the problem we observed that the cords originally supplied where not approved for use with the laptop because of the battery size. A heavier cord was the replacement.

if a new cable still brings on the problem, then the problem is not the cable -- but the power circuit of the printer -- in not under warranty -- buy a new printer.

Open heat error

Open heat error is a fuser error. If you have plenty of clearance around the printer and you are still getting this error, it is the fuser.

Open heat error

From looking at the manual it looks as if you have a faulty thermistor. When warming up, it has to heat up to at least 60 degrees. If it stays lower then 60 degrees celsius for over 35 seconds and doesn't reach 60 within that time frame then that would cause the open heat error that is happening on your machine.

Most "Open Heat Error" messages are caused by a bad fuser. Order a new fuser from Dell.
