If no power to the unit, you need to check if its plugged in for one keep it simple. if yes do yo have power at the outlet easy to check with a multimeter. you can also just check the breakers in your electrical panel.. if that doesn't do it you may want to call your local refrigeration a/c tech for further assistance but check the above first

Sta-rite heater is about a year old. It worked well up until a week ago. It now trips the gfi breaker. I swapped out the breaker and it trips that too. If I disconnect the exhaust fan, the heater powe

Something in the electrical system supplied by the GFI breaker has a ground fault. The current to ground required to trip a GFI is very little such that dampness on any electrical connection can trip it. This is especially true with motors that have a lot of fine wires in the windings and are open to allow cooling.
Hard water and pool chemicals all are worse than condensation from the air because of their ionic nature.
If the same GFI powers the pump it is what I would suspect first. Your question got cut off before the result of the fan disconnect which if disconnected didn't trip the GFI, is probably the problem. But you should open whatever you can access containing electrical components and make sure everything is dry

Dead after power outage

The breaker may have failed electrically while continuing to function mechanically. It may be necessary to replace the breaker, something GE should have been able to tell you without referring vaguely to "an act of nature" which it wasn't.

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  • Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  • If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  • When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

My Jandy Pol heater is giving me an error message of Hi Lim SW which I believe means that it has something to do with the High Voltage somethihg or other. Can you please help me?

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Hi limit switched are embedded in the header and trip when the water temperature is too high. Most of the time the cause is either a faulty sensor or poor flow thru the heater causing the exchanger to overheat. If you have a bypass plumbed into the water lines at the heater close it and see if the problem goes away. If not, you'll need to check the limit switches to see if they are faulty or if a condition exists causing them to trip.

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!

Pushmatic breaker keeps tripping everytime I hit

You have it shorted out somewhere along the line. If it is a light switch you are switching, what have you done lately to make this trip? Anything? You might have a bad breaker. You can check it by shutting off the power, pull the wire out of the tripping breaker, put it in another breaker, turn the power back on, switch the breaker on, then hit the switch and see what happens. If it snaps off, it is not the breaker, but the switch, the wires in the box, or the lights, or something along the line, you will have to check each one. New construction has made all lights and all receptacles separate, so if your house is old, you might be looking at receptacles too. Check anything plugged in to an outlet, make sure there is nothing shorting. Hope this helps.
