If it has a switch for the light and a switch for the fan might be the switch. if it's just one both the fan and light works on one switch and runs off the pull chains, there is a easy way to test this take a multi meter put it on volts put one lead on the light nib were the bulb screws in and one one the screw part itself do you have 120 volts. if yes turn off power take a screwdriver a small flat head pull that nib out a bit they get compressed after some time. if no power you need to look at the wires in the fan one is for the light one is for the fan make sure you have a good connection. could also be the pull chain its self the pull switches do occationaly get stuck or break. and please if you feel overwhelmed call an electrician

It sounds as though it may have caused the bulbs socket to become damaged or perhaps a loosely fitted wire to detach itself.

The fan operates correctly, but I cannot get the lights to work. There are 4 candelabra bulbs. The bulb receptacles have 110 VAC on them. Once bulbs are installed, the voltage to bulbs drop out.

There are two ways that ceiling fans are wired.

1. you turn on the wall switch and then you have one pull for the light (on and off), one pull for direction (clockwise, anti-clockwise) and one pull for three speeds and off.

2. you turn the wall switch on and the light comes on. There are two pull switches one pull for direction and one pull for three speeds and off.

Check your wiring from the installation instructions, the wiring in the ceiling.

I have Hunter ceiling fan / light. I installed it. It worked fine for a little while, than one bulb blew out, then a second bulb blew out, now none work. Yes I repaced all the bulbs, still don't w

I would check with a voltmeter if you can safely to verify power at the light socket using an adapter to a plug in it. If you can not do that, with power off you may want to make sure that the socket contacts are good and clean. Sometimes they can become tarnished badly.

Replaced 2 of 4 bulbs with 75watt bulbs. It sparked upon turning on the light and now the light does not work at all. Fan still works????

In the cealing where the fan is mounted, you have wires in the switch the control the fan speeds, to the motor and wires that control the light. Most likely there is a wire exposed or short that every time you turn light on, it of course blows light out. Als check , open up switch on wall first to make sure no loose wire on wall switch. Please turn of breaker first, make SURE power is off. Please if this advice helped, give me 4 thumbs to help me and others, thanks, Mike

Fan with remote won't work with wall switch. I

I just recently purchased a hunter ceiling fan w/light and remote. Had it installed and wall switch would not work, only remote. I contacted Hunter company directly about this problem and I was told that they redesigned their fans with remotes so that only the remote works for turning off power to fan. The person who made that made that BRILLIANT change should be fired. So to those of you who own a newer hunter an product with a remote ne your wall switch will not work tat s te reason why.

40w candleabra bulb blew now can't turn lights off with remote

There is a receiver in the fan that when the light blew might have damaged that part of the receiver. I think you can buy them, but you will have to get into the base of the fan(ceiling cover).

WS3 Broan Allure Range Hood Premier 36 inch

Hi shealy,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: This hood worked fine until a light bulb blew out. Put in a new light bulb, but the lights will not turn off. Is the light switch bad or is there a problem with the control panel? The fan still works fine but the lights will not turn off or adjust dim or bright.

You're on the right track. The light control switch needs replacing. You might try utilizing the Repair Directory to find a repairman. If you have the tools and ability just remember to turn off the electric first.
