Do machine attempt to fill with water. Washer will not do much until it reaches a preset water level. If no water check house shut off valves, or check in control panel where you just fixed the knobs and see if you accidentally unplugged wires to the plastic inlet valve which is the part the hoses screw on to.

Generally speaking you will need to at least remove the top of the machine, usually there are a few screws and then it pops off. Also see if the control panel has a screw in it that attaches to the top of the machine. If so you will need to remove this also to avoid breaking the panel. Hopefully you will be able to view all you need to , do you see any signs of the drum hanging awkward like for instance it seems to pitch back,if so there is the issue.I have had to reattach the suspension spring that balances the drum.If so get a good pair of locking pliers to stretch that spring back to its original location, this could have come off during transportation.Hope this helps.

Drum wont turn but the moter does

Hello Deanna - This particular issue could be caused by a variety of reasons. I would suggest trying the following steps:

1) Verify a circuit breaker isn't tripped

2) Advance the timer control dial slowly 360 degrees-

If the washer starts spinning, then that means the motor and drive belt are fine but that there is something wrong with either the timer control dial or the agitator solenoid. Call in a professional for this.

If the washer doesn't budge, then verify that the drive belt(s) is attached and not broken by removing the back panel. If the belt is broken, replace it. If it is loose, then tighten it by loosening up the bolt holding the motor and moving it on its swingarm (much like a car alternator) until there is a 1/2 to 3/4 inch deflection in the belt.
Some washers use reversing motors. It's possible the motor works on the spin cycle but not on the wash cycle. If so, call a pro.

3) Visually inspect the lid safety switch- Is it loose or cracked? If so, the washer might work intermittently, stopping at different cycles.

4) Check motor and drive belt- Remove the main access panel (usually in the back). Is the motor spinning, but the drive belt isn't? If so, then you have a drive belt problem.

My machine wont stay on wash cycle.it starts turns a few times then turns itself to the "on" mode

If the drum is turning then its most likely the tacho on the back of the motor or the wires connecting the tacho to the control panel. So the motor is turning but the panel can't control the speed so will switch off straight away.
If the drum doesnt turn but you hear the motor kick, then the drum belt is broken...

Dryer heats, but won't tumble. Suggestions?

Either there is no tension on the belt or the motor is not running. If you don't hear the motor, the first thing to check is whether any air blows out the vent. If you have air moving, the motor is OK and you can check for a broken belt or a problem with the tensioner pulley mounted on the motor bracket. First, reach inside the dryer and try to turn the drum by hand. If it turns very easily, belt tension is definitely the problem. If you can't turn it at all and the dryer was previously making a lot of noise, the drum has crashed due to a bad bearing or bushing pad. A stuck drum can also ruin a belt.

On most dryers, you can remove the panel under the door to look at the motor and belt tensioner. Usually you have to take off the floor trim piece way down at the bottom, then remove the screws holding the panel. The top of the panel is commonly held in place with spring clips.

On some models you have to undo screws at the back near the top, then tilt the top up like the hood on a car (there are spring clips holding the front of the top; you may need to pry with a thin piece of hardwood or a screwdriver with tape wrapped around the shaft to protect the paint on the dryer). This gives you access to clips and screws holding the front onto the dryer. If you have a broken belt, you'll need to remove the front (door assembly) anyway to replace the belt or drum bearing. (Some models have a drum bushing on a center pin in the back of the dryer; you can get at these by removing a plate on the back).

If the tensioner pulley has a lot of slop in the bearing, fix this; otherwise the belt may wobble off it again. You'll be surprised by how much quieter the dryer gets.

If the motor is not running, check for a failed starter capacitor (located inside the control panel), a bad centrifugal switch (inside the motor), bad contacts in the timer (control panel), or an open thermal fuse in the motor.

CAUTION: unplug the dryer before doing any work inside.

My dryer is not running the inside won't spin it will cut on but it won't spin

If you hear the motor come on but the drum won't spin, it's either a broken belt, belt has come off pulley, or the drum is seized up. Turn off power, remove bottom panel and inspect

Dryer drum does not turn.

If you can hear the motor turn on, but the drum does not turn, it's probably a broken belt.
If you CAN'T hear the motor turn on, it could be the timer, the motor or safety controls.

Pushed dial, dryer would not start. Heating coil on, can feel the heat and hear ticking.

If the heating elemnts are coming on but the drum is not spining then the motor could be bad or the belt could be broken that turns the drum. The motor could also be on a thermal overload in this case unplug the dryer or turn off the circuit breaker for 15 minutes and let everything cool down. After turn the breaker back on or plug it back in and give it a try if you hear the motor running but the drum is not spinning then the belt is probably broken and will have to be replaced.

Dryer started up as normal, but, midway through cycle, it stopped running. Timer was still going, but dryer is not spinning.

Can you hear the motor turning? If yes, it probably has a broken belt that drives the drum. If no, check the house electrical power panel to reset the dryer breaker(maybe, only one of the breaker pair tripped). If breaker trips again, you have an electrical short in the dryer cabinet somewhere, usually in the heating element in back of the drum. Good luck!
