How does fuel line connect from gas tank to carburetor?

Its usually just a rubber or clear plastic hose that runs from the bottom of the tank to a barbed push on connector at the side of the carb.

A weight in the gas tank has broken the gas line. How do I replace the line/weight part?

The weight is the fuel filter, the hose is an interference fit in the tank, you need to cut a point on the end of a new hose, feed it in through the top of the tank just far enough to grab it with a pair of long nose pliers through the fuel filler hole, pull it on through, connect a new fuel filteron the end, now drop it back into the tank, allow enough pipe to allow the filter to move freely in the tank.

How to repair leaking fuel lines under the tank

Okay, prepare to get some gas on you. You need to drain the gas
You'll need:

1 pair hemostats or hose pincher
1 pair of wire cutters
1 screwdriver phillips or flat head
1 nut driver 1/4 inch or 5/16 inch
New fuel line. (cut 1 two inch piece and put the bolt in one end making a plug) = 2 inch plug
Hose clamps.
1 Bolt that will fit inside fuel line.(make line plug)

Pinch either side of the fuel line with hemostats. Cut the factory clamp off and pull the hose off. Put the 2 inch plug on the tank, and that will stop the gas from coming out. put a hose clamp on it if you want so it don't leak.
Now put a gas can under the pinched line and unpinch it and let the gas drain out of that tank.
When done draining , cut that hose off the tank and put it on the other side where that plug is. Remove the plug and put that line on and let that tank drain.
Once the tanks are drained., Just cut the hose to length and replace, using new hose clamps and new fuel line.
If your quick enough you can swap the hoses out without draining the tank.
You will get gas on you no matter what.

2002 firebird evap system 0440 code check engine light is on. i changed the entire gas tank and got a new canister new gas cap too lights still on sensor?

Are you using ethanol blended fuel? If so stop and use unleaded only and see if after 2 tanks you can clear the code. If that doesn't help and your evap canister has 2 hose connections, try plugging the hose connection that doesn't go to the tank at the first point of connection away from the canister. Plug the line that goes to the first point of connection side of that line (vacuum side). Let the canister side of that line vent to atmosphere during this test.

I need to know how the fuel lines are hooked up in my ryobi gas trimmer. All of the fuel lines rotted out. I took them out and I need to know the correct connection sequences (what goes where).

line runs from little filter in tank to carb.
line from carb. to primer bulb
line from primre bulb back to gas tank.
lines are 2 sizes
need to cut at angle end of lines in tank so you can get them thru holes
and grab with needle nose plyers and pull them thru.
make sure you put the little filter on end before you pull line thru and leave
enough so filter can move around the whole tank.
second line in tank is smaller and need to cut and pull it thru hole in tank to primer bulb

ON a Poulan 220 Pro all of the fuel lines are

Your fuel lines are routed like the schematic below. I suggest you replace the filter, all hoses (2 different sizes), and the purge button (bleeder).
Let us start with the bleeder. The 2 hoses that connect to the bleeder are different sizes (Important). If the nipples are the same size connect a hose temporarily to one of them and place the free end in a small container of mix (please be careful with open gasoline and as soon as it is no longer needed put it out of harms way.). Squeeze the bulb if it blows bubbles that is the return side, it gets the large hose and attaches to a fitting on the tank. If it appears nothing happens but when released fuel is drawn into the bleeder it requires a short section of small hose and attaches to one of the carburetor fittings.
A second small hose goes through the tank and connects to the carburetor just like the video including the filter. It feeds the carburetor like it has since before bleeders were installed. I am not certain which carburetor fitting connects to the tank or the primer, please leave them long enough to swap until the saw is running. Logic says the upper most fitting (air bleed) goes to the primer but that is not always true. The Poulan drawing is deceptive it appears the filtered line feeds the bleeder it does not!!!

The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best. Fuel components and part numbers are listed but are on different illustrations. They are also beneficial with disassembly/reassembly.
A link to a Poulan "PP220 Gas Saw Type 5 follows (may not be your saw):

If your saw is not a Type 5 you can find the correct IPL here:
The dash number of your serial number is the type.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

Fuel Lines - 25cc Craftman weedwacker

Your Craftsman Trimmer/weedwacker:!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=358795591+&pathTaken=partSearch

Best Poulan Engine Match (probably real manufacturer):

My decisions are being driven by my experience with Poulan chainsaws. Small hose in tank (long enough to reach all corners), filter on bottom, connects to lowest connection on carburetor. Small hose on upper carburetor connection to small fitting on primer. Large hose from large connection on primer through largest tank hole, roughly mid tank long. nothing on bottom. I suggest you leave the 2 connections on the carburetor long enough they can be swapped (just in case) then try it. if no go swap them.

Typical fuel system and a suggestion or two:

This is how I would configure it if a chainsaw, doubtful they would do something completely different. In defense of Jerry, he knows how it should be done, clarity of instruction could use some help. Good Luck. HTH
