Wanting to program my dish network remote to control my vizio sound bar. The dish remote is a 5.4 IR and I can't find vizio in my manual. Is there any way to do this?

I don't show we have any codes for the Vizio sound bar. Have you checked your Visio manual for the code; I know that Vizio TVs provide codes for different providers. If you still can't find a code, I have provided instructions on how you can perform a power scan for programming the remote.

Address To Other Equipment Using Power Scan
  • Remote: All Remotes (except Basic)
    1. With the desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button until all mode button back lights illuminate, then release.
    2. Press and release the Power button. AUX Mode: Before pressing and releasing the Power button
      • Press 0 for a TV
      • Press 1 for a VCR/DVD
      • Press 2 for any other device
      Then Press STAR (*)
    3. Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. Note: If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will power off.
    4. Press the POUND (#) button. Note: If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.

Try to uplluged unit from the power for 5 min and then pluged back.Unit should go back to manufacture set up,second option check Your source (cable, dvd, satelite etc..) for connections and cables, maybe not plugged properly or disconected.Short way to find out if You press menu on remote see if menu comes up on screen,if not unit need service, don't blame child it was just coincidence that unit went down
Hope this will help Cheers

I have a ViewSonic RC00136P remote control. It

Okay here's the fix.
Remove batteries. Re-install them wrong side in! Don't panic.
Reverse the direction of both the battery cells and install. Press "Power" button a couple of times and a few other buttons a few times. Then remove batteries and re-install the right side in.
Voila.

Guages when crazy. Now won't even try to start.

You likely have it repaired by now but it sounds like a classic case of oxidized battery or cable connection (sometimes mis-diagnosed as bad battery but cured with new (clean) battery)

Find a local authorized GM radio repair station in your area, or write Doctor don's.com an email and describe issue, he may be able to help, he is really sharp on GM sound systems.
