I am getting message when attempting to open links, "Server not found"?

Email links is when you are getting this message or is it when you try to open an internet browser to go to any web page?

If you're on the internet successfully and you are clicking a email link, then I would say the link is bad. You can type the address of the email provider and see if you can get there successfully. If you don't know the address just go to www.google.com and in the search box type your email provider. Example: Yahoo Mail or Google Mail,or GMail or Hotmail.

I'm not able to open my yahoo mail. Error is mentioned below - "Oops! Internet Explorer could not connect to mrd.mail.yahoo.com"

Try opening your email from another working computer. The message is telling you that it cannot find the server "mrd.mail.yahoo.com". I am not sure where you are located, but the incoming server for yahoo email is typically just: mail.yahoo.com or in some instances: incoming.mail.yahoo.com.
I am not sure what the mrd you have before the mail is supposed to be for. You can also try removing the mrd from the incoming server line in the email settings and then try to open your email again.

OUTLOOK ERROR 550 5.7.1 Your email contained wrongly placed script tags. Please correct this (try setting your mail program to use plain text) and resend your message. PLZ REPLAY FAST

If you are receiving an error when sending email using Outlook:

"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. Server Response: '550 not local host, not a gateway', Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79"

Open your Outlook settings (Tools > Accounts)
Go to View/Change email account for the email account you are having problems with.
Check that the SMTP Server is set to yourdomain.com
Go into the "More settings", "Outgoing Server" tab and make sure that the option "My server requires authentication" for the Outgoing server is checked ON.

Save and close all windows.

Try again.

If the problem continues then the problem is that your Internet Service Provider is blocking the mail server. ISPs do this to prevent spam on their network. When this happens you will need to use the mail server that they provide you instead of your own. The mail server is generally smtp.yourISPname.com, however, it could be different so please contact your ISP to get the details.

If you do not want to use your ISPs server for SMTP, and the ISP is blocking port 25, you can switch the port to 587 for your outgoing mail and use mail.yourdomain, com for the SMTP server name.

Trying to open yahoo email, get LaunchFFC-1 error message

This seems to be the latest glitch. There are hundreds asking this. It may well be a server down somewhere. Try again later seems to be the best advice.

No email can not be sent or compuse or reply

After deleting and recreating an account in Mail, you might not be able to send emails even if you can receive them. When you try to send a message, this alert may appear:
"Cannot send message using the server smtp.xxxxx.com"
This happens if the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) server, used for outgoing messages, was incorrectly entered with the first account even if it was correctly entered for the replacement account.
Products Affected Mail
Resolution You should first verify that the network connection you're using is the correct one for the ISP that you want mail to communicate with.
  1. Open Mail.
  2. From the Mail menu, choose Preferences
  3. Click Accounts.
  4. On the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) pop-up menu, choose Edit Server List.
  5. Delete all entries for the SMTP server that is mentioned in the error, and click Done.
  6. Configure the current SMTP server by clicking Server Setting.

Note: If you need to use multiple SMTP servers for multiple Mail accounts, see this document.
  7. Send a test message to your email address.

Saved/older Yahoo e-mail opens to a blank message and show sending to "undisclosed recipients." This is happening one one of three e-mail accounts only and new e-mail reads fine. Recently updated to IE8.

Logging Does Not Work

In some circumstances NETGEAR routers check to ensure the source and destination of email messages are not the same address. If this happens, the router's logging messages are discarded. (The Reference Manual is not clear on this.) An easy way to solve this is to choose a different email server for the router's "Send to This E-mail Address" field. So if "Your Outgoing Mail Server" is mail.myisp.com (as shown in the manual) then DO NOT use yourname@myisp.com for the "Send to This E-mail Address" field. Instead, use an email account you have on another server, such as hotmail. E.g., make the send field yourname@hotmail.com.The other way to solve this is to explicitly open the ports for SMTP and POP, 110 and 25. By default, these ports are closed on NETGEAR routers. (Other, non-NETGEAR related email problems are also solved by opening these ports.)
