I think you have a thermal issue if it cuts out after five minutes when it gets warm. U could have a bad wire in the spark plug igniter that when it gets hot, will expand and cut out the unit. Replace with new one and see what happens.

If you had a gas blockage the unit would not have run that long.

Hi Anonymous:
Sounds like you've covered a lot of potential problems with the maintenance that you've done.
I would suggest that you try to identify the problem when it is happens, something like this:
- Run machine until it quits.
- Immediately pull the spark plug and check:
1) Is it dry? Maybe no fuel.
2) Is it wet from fuel? Maybe no spark. Check for spark at the plug by holding the plug against the head and spinning the motor over. If there is no spark, it may be that the coil is failing when it heats up.
Once you isolate the problem to fuel or spark you should be able to track it down.
Here's a link for free manuals if you don't have one.

2003 Yukon stalls when driving what do i need to look for to fix this

Could be many things. Dirty fuel and/or air filters, dirty carb or out of adjustment, bad plugs or plug wires, I'd start with new plugs and plug wires, replace the air filter and fuel filter. Fill it up with high-test gas and add a good additive like Sea Foam, check out the PCV valve and O2 sensor, Replace if needed. If that doesn't help, chances are carb problems, corrosion in your gas tamk.

2004 Honda Element 4 cyl. has new fuel pump but will not pump gas up to the carb.

I'm not familiar with your vehicle (but I've just spent an afternoon fixing a similar problem on a Fiat..). It's an electric fuel pump?

Ok. There was some reason why you had a new fuel pump fitted in the first place .. had the vehicle been slowing down/cutting out? That is a symptom of a faulty/failing fuel pump, yes.. but it can also be other things.

The fuel filter was replaced? A blocked fuel filter can cause problems, though it's unlikely that no fuel would actually get to the carb.

Can you remove the gas filler cap and disconnect the fuel line where it enters the engine bay and get somebody to turn the ignition on? Fuel should literally spurt out. Removing the gas cap and disconnecting the fuel line will purge any air in the system. removing the gas cap also allows air into the tank and prevents a 'partial vacuum' which restricts fuel supply.

If you disconnect the fuel line and switch the ignition on you should hear the in tank electric fuel pump working.

You mention carbs ... Does your car have injection or carbs?
If it is a carb model .. a sticking fuel float will cut off fuel supply into the engine.

Your first action should be to disconnect the fuel line somewhere in the engine bay, and turn on the ignition. If fuel spurts out the problem lies in the injector/carbs.

If no fuel comes out the problem lies with the pump/tank.

Gas will not flow from tank to motor while running

Everybody had a crack at this problem, another thing would check is these engines sometimes have a primary fuel filter inside the tank itself. Drain the fuel and gently blow compressed air back through fuel line towards tank then rinse the tank out with fuel, refill and try run engine again

Toro Timecutter 14.38Z Model 74301 Briggs & Stratton Engine Model 280H07-0166-E1 Has NIKKI carb Starts & runs for ~ 15 minutes then stops. Will restart after 5 minutes rest and run...

Recheck spark when the unit cuts out. I am gonna guess you spent a lto of money chasing a bad coil! When a coil starts to go bad they become temperature sensitive. Time does the rest!

the fuel line rots apart you need to replace the line pull the old hose out take a new hose cut down about a half inch cutting the line to about 1/3 slide a stiff wire down the hole and out the gas cap slide the hose over the wire and slide it back til the cut back end pops out put the filter on the end and pull it into place cut to size and install on the carb

Could my problem be fuel pump or carbuerator starting my 65 mustang it takes 3 to 4 times and i have to hold gas pedal down so it doesnt cut out after going it will still cut out when i slow down o

this sounds like the carburetor is dirty internaly and needs a rebuild to correct the problem.if it was the fuel pump it would not matter if you held the pedal wide open or not it would not pump gas.you mention plug wires but not mention spark plugs specifically.these are the items that are normally replaced when a tune-up is done.plugs, cap rotor, points, condensor, plug wires if needed, air filter, fuel filter, set point gap,set ignition timing, adjust carb mixture.

Stalls out about every 10 miles or so,let sit bout 5min,restarts

have you changed the plugs and leads, if you don't know the last time it was started there is a few things you need to take into account, engine oil and spark plugs fuel filter even the fuel in the tank empty and replace, coil and the points ( if upgraded there is no coil and points as been converted) you would also need to clean out the carburetor as old fuel drying can block or limit fuel entering the engine. change air filter. even standing an engine for a year or 2 these parts can degrade as they have not been used. also change the water and flush the system and refill with coolant/antifreeze.
