Question about Vizio SV421XVT 42 in. LCD TV
Most likely a power supply issue. Many of these LCD panels have particular problems. If you search on that make/model you will likely see similar complaints. If you have no way of testing it, you could take a chance on a replacement board - but this will be around $60 to $80, so balance that against the age of the product and the replacement value.
