Question about HP Pavilion Media Center a1330n - AMD Athlon 64 2.4GHz Desktop Computer (Open Box Product, Limited Avai... (EL466AAABAOB)
I cannot communicate with my PC, I have only black screen with blinking cursor on upper left corner. I was able to put it in diagnostic mode and all tests passed but wasn't able to boot it.Also, I cannot put PC in safe mode to repair it (I used repeatedly F8, am I wrong?-is there another way). Regards, Ned. Please help. My e mail address is email@example.com
Remove all other connected devices beside the keyboard and mouse and remove any disc in the dvd drive then try and boot. If the system boots connect the devices back to the computer one by one till the problem duplicates, then you will know what's faulty. If the problem is still there after removing all devices besides keyboard and mouse disconnect those as well. Just an FYI these HP desktops were notorious for failing motherboards. You might give the motherboard a visual inspection for bulging or leaky capacitors.

spywaregard 2008 is malware, a parasite if you will
the last 1/2 of this article will run down a list of files you need to delte to get rid of this nasty little bugger. You can also download various tools to remove it, but it is dependent on your comfort level. if you are comfortable searching for files and changing a couple of registry keys, then by all means, manually is the way to go. If not, you will not have a hard time finding a tool to get rid of this
