Simply boot, you are in deep doo doo. U need to re install the operating system from the recovery package that came with your laptop.

Before you do that you might want to by using your drive as a secondary on another system, recover and save all of the files you want since a recovery will probably also erase all of your created files.

Restart the device and power it on while holding the power button and volume down until the boot screen clears, keep holding the volume down key as this will allow you to get to the root settings and wipe/cache partion resets and delete user install data. :-)

To factory reset a PC you must have a factory partition or system restore disks. Your manufacturer will be able to supply the later at a cost.

Fujitsu lifebook will not bootup. Message says "operating system not found."

Hello,

Couple of things here, 1. Your os/nos is missing or 2. your boot files have been moved to another partion and the server has not been directed where to look.

Solutions: reinstall the os/nos or find the correct partition which has the boot sector and direct the server to boot from that partion. (This partition should be partition 0.

Good Luck

How do i restore my lasptop to the factory settings

To restore your acer to its factory installation status (formats C: and removes all data) press ALT and F10 repeatedly on first boot. This should take you to the acer restore program which is partioned onto the hard drive.
Alternatively use the acer e recovery program to create a set of boot disks which will allow the same operation.

A full "factory restore" involves booting to the restore CDs (or hard drive sys restore partion, used by some manufactors) and following the manufactors instructions.
A Factory restore will result in all DATA being wiped, it really does mean "like the day it left the factory".

Missing

well check ur hardrive in slave to an other system and then see if it show the missing partion then copy the data and format it.

if it wont then use partion software to check it like partion magic.
may be your system changed the partion to RAW format i mean UNPARTITIONED space due to improper shutdown.
