Difficult to say. Maybe take the machine to the hardware store and ask someone to tell you what tool you need. Is it a phillips? Possibly an allen or star tool.

Singer 14T967dc serger runs but does not stitch

Hello Laura

Make sure that the lower looper thread is in front of and over the upper looper thread when threading the serger; when threading for overlocking.

My serger is not looping at all. I changed the needles and nothing is working.

Start with the threading sequence. Upper looper, lower looper, left needle, right needle. Your upper & lower loopers must be threaded before your needles or it won't make the stitch. If it still doesn't work, it's out of time and will need to be taken in to a shop.

Can I disengage the upper looper on the White Speedylock 1634? If so, How? My manual says nothing about it. I want to do a hem on a sleeve that has two parallel top stitches and the lock-stitch underneath...

No. You would want to disengage your upper KNIFE not upper looper to do this but you need a serger with the COVER STITCH feature to do this. You can get the same effect using a twin needle on your sewing machine. Hope this helps!

Contact Yamata directly, that is the only way to get parts unfortunately. The have an office in Florida that they ship parts from but you may want to order more than just your looper because they only ship ups.

Sewing machine stopped making the stich

Unthread the needles, rethread the loopers properly, then rethread the needles. Make sure that all four threads are pulled securely into the tensions and retry.

The loopers must always be threaded before the needles or it will not chain.

Upper and Lower Looper Rub Together!!

Your loopers need adjusting, impossible to explain how to do this, you need to be shown. Can I suggest you contact a sewing machine tech, sure it will cost but if he is a decent guy he will show you how to adjust the machine.
